Tonneau cover

Hey guys i've been looking around for a Tonneau cover lately, n i've come across 3.
The Gaylordx2000 with the speedsturr wing

I like them all, but i need other peoples help on my decision because im buying it on the 16

Personally I don't like any of those but the Gaylords kinda cool. But only on like a street truck/xrunner. I'd go with the undercover just because of my silver & black theme

 

How much is the undercover?

 

I have an ARE cover. I like it. It came with the truck when I bought it. Only thing I do not like is how much of a pain it is to take off. I do think it helps with the mpg though. Its nice to be able to lock it as well.

 

I voted for the Leer, Only cause I got one (The 550) I've loved it so far. Everything stays dry and Its easy to take off and put back on.

 

That must be an ARE problem or you don't have a place where you can remove it? (see below)

I voted for the Leer also. Although I do like the black of the undercover (but there were only 3 options in existence in Aug 2005 when I needed one to haul stuff for work: Leer, ARE, or Snugtop). At that time, I liked the Leer the best. And I would never hesitate to recommend it. Great product. Still like new even after removing it dozens of times for firewood cutting each summer.

As far as hard tonneaus being too heavy to remove, if you park in a garage then you can build a simple lift setup where you can raise it off your truck and reinstall by yourself in about 15 minutes for less than $20 in supplies (4 eyebolts, rope, and a couple of 2x4's).

X2. I have Leer 700 match my truck color since last summer when I brought the truck. I love it so far. It does help the MPG. I don't have to worry about people look what I have or throw some junk on truck bed. I HATE THAT!
Since I don't have garage and remove it couple of times to load something. Yes it heavy and I just have my next door help me to remove it.
I never tried with Undercover, it cheaper but I am afraid it not that good, my opinion. Some of my friends complaining about undercover. I just in the middle and no agreement. I need to see it my own eyes than to hear it.

X2. I like the look of the 550 as it has a lower profile.

 

I have a snugtop fiberglass tonneau and I love it. Just another option for you maybe.

 

My locking undercover is awesome. Looks sharp, fits tight, no leaks at all and a great locking mechanism built in. Turned out to be 700something locally.

 

I like my Undercover. It came with my truck so not sure on $$. Locks secure, light weight, easy installation/removal and convenient to store. Awkward to remove by yourself so a 2nd set of hands is recommended. I also like that it is black - I'm not a fan of color matched tonneaus.

 

Buy The UnderCover You Will Love It!

 

I paid $670 installed here near Portland, Oregon. The guy put it on for free and it took him about 10 minutes. I had to make 3 phone calls to get that price. The hard core dealers wanted full retail, $700, plus $50 to install. Anyone who can read can install this thing if you have the bed rails on your rig. No drilling involved.

I have not tried to remove it but I am sure that I could slide it off by myself but it would take the wife to help me set it back on.

I got tired of stuff sliding around in the bed so I also bought the factory bed mat. That really helped things. The mat is good quality as far as I am concerned.
