Ok. gotcha. I do see what jester is saying. I used to live in Germany. Having the headlights on while running the fog lights especially with the HB would make it visually worse - due to the reflecting.

Not too sure about that. Use a multimeter if you have one to find +12V.

Here is what mine looks like:

thanks for the info Crom, but I would like to find a source that was switched so I don't forget an leave fogs on (bead dattery) an not real sure about using the ign wire, my luck it would leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere

(if it weren't bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all)

I don't know about earlier models, but the lights shut off on my truck as soon as you turn the key off and open the door. I don't sit in my car with the key off for long periods of time without opening the door. I guess if you wait alot or go on stakeouts this could be an issue.

Did Lextech's method from post #18 in this thread, works great. Fog lights come on with parking lights, stay on with high beams, go off when ignition turned off and door opened. Awesome mod, will definitely be sporting the parking lights with fogs frequently!

i actually just installed an extra set of aftermarket hella fog lamps. when i ran the switch power wire i just tapped that directly into the IGN fuse in my dashboard. is this bad? can i risk a blow fuse and have no ignition? i'm not a master electrician by anymeans

So you are saying that if you splice into green wire, instead of tow tail relay, I will have no fuse protection. I used green wire trick and all is working well, fog lights can be turned on/off anytime until key is switched off. Fog lights come on with or without parking, headlights or high beams.
But I would prefer to be fused, like you stated. If tow tail relay mod is fused, I will change this.

I did it Lextech's way a while ago, works great. I don't use my fogs all the time just at dusk or on a bad weather day. I like the fact that I don't need to turn on two different switches to get both fogs and headlights on.

I have read most of the threads, but I have a 2014 Taco SR5 and the fuse boxes and relay's are different. If I take the lower left pin of the fog light relay (as shown in some of the pictures) and use a mini fuse tap and tap into the fuse for the fog lights which is ignition powered will this work? I have to be careful as truck is still under warranty for about 3 more months. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Well, I was all set to try to do this mod, or one like it, and I'm dead in the water before I left the dock. The layout of my fuse block doesn't even have a relay for the fog lights. In its place is a relay labeled "AI VALVE." Nothing is shown as a fog-light relay. Anybody got any hints?

check my fog light mod in the link below in my signature.

FYI 12+'s have the fog light relay in the separate aux relay box
