07 tacoma level kit question

are these level kits even worth the money.. dont do any heavy off roading.. just for work.. i do more towing than anything.. just thinking about adding some wheels and tires and the level kit.. any one have any preferences to a particular brand.. seems that there are alot of them out there.. thank you

 

Welcome to tw. Try searching but the best least expensive route bilstein 5100s.

 

You can do Bilsteins. Or you can put a Daystar leveling kit on also.

 

Nothing wrong with a level kit for daily driving. Some considerations:

1. you can fit 33's with a 3" kit, you can fit 32s stock.
2. If you DO NOT have the TSB springs in the rear you'll probably only want to lift the front 1" to 1.5" to level it out. Any more in the front and you'll likely be 'nose high'.
3. You'll need an alignment after installing the level kit.
4. If your truck wanders after the lift you'll need aftermarket UCAs (some folks don't need them at a 3" lift, but most do, and I needed them aftera 2" lift, sooo)
5. In my opinion you should look for the type that mount on top of your stock spring plate, to me it seems that putting a spacer in with the coil just limits your shock travel and changes the preload on your springs.

 

I got mine from Fat Bob's Garage. 2.25" and it is almost EXACTLY the same as the rear.

Looks perfect. Do your have the TSB springs on back? With my front at 2.2" it was 1" nose high with standard TRD OR spring pack.

 

No I have the original spring pack on the back. I got the truck at 2 years old, so I figured they had settled about as far as they were goin to until they start saggin, so I just measured the difference between the top of the tire and the fender and got the spacer that was closest to it. Right after I put the spacers on I was only like 1/8" high on the front.

 

thanks everyone.. im pushing 60000 miles and im sure its to late to have the tsb for the leafs done.. am i better off going aftermarket of just paying for the newer toyota leaf springs??
