2001 Prerunner Lift?

Hey Im sure there are threads here regarding this subject but I searched and I couldnt find what I was looking for....

I just bought an 01' Prerunner TRD Offroad and am curious about the best and most economical lift options.

Thinking about a 3" and going down to 235/75/15 BFGs? I do mostly highway as most people do, I do some rough road driving and want to rally a bit harder w/o ruining my truck.

Whats the stock tire size as well? Did the Offroads come with 31x10.5s?

Trying to figure out what my speedo is calibrated at.

First of all welcome to TW.

The stock tire size is 265/70R16, if you want to lift it why do want to go down in tire size?

As far as economical, you could get 3" lift spacers in the front and an add-a-leaf for the rear but don't get blocks in the rear though. A better way is to get coilovers for the front.

 

yeah i got a prerunner also 2003, but lemme tell ya, the cheaper you go the worse the ride. But you can save alot of money if you go cheap. spacers in the front, shackle kit in the back. Grand total = under 100$ looks great! ride uhhh not amazing but ive rode in worse. Its all up to you!

 

your truck is gonna look really funny if you lift it and go down in tire size.

prob your best bang for buck lift will be bilstein 5100 on all four corners and an AAL out back to level the truck out.

 

If you are going to lift you will want at least 31s or


285 70 or 75 16 depending on what wheels you have.



I went a very economical route with


2.5" hell bent steel front spacer

1.5" rear block (shackle will do fine)

downsized to 15" wheels and got 31x10.50x15s

whats the AAL kit? some sort of rear shackle spacers?

So all I have to do is level out the back and put in the 5100's?

I must need to buy matching front springs for the longer travel?

A arms can stay the same?
