285/65/18's on stock suspension

Yes it can be done!!
I am lifting my truck next week, but picked up my wheels yesterday, and figured, what the hell, lets see if i can make it work. A little trimming here and there and removed the front mud flaps, and BOOM! I have [almost] 33's on my truck with stock suspension.

For the record, I was planning on leaving the stock wheels/tires, and was convinced there was no way these would fit before the lift, but the tire shop owner was convinced otherwise, so we tried it out...

Tires are 285/65/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers, and wheels are 18x9 Ballistic Jesters (with out the red inserts)

Next is lift and debadge! (already pulled the "TRD Off Road" stickers)

Trimming? Rubbing?

 

Looking good! Going to look even better with the lift! What size n type of lift you getting?

 

Can't turn the steering wheel past half way and God forbid you try it while hitting even the smallest of bumps, but hey, it looks good and that's all that matters.

Thanks! doing a 3" lift. I have a buddy that runs a tire/suspension shop where I grew up, so he taking care of everything on the cheap for me. I am not sure what type of lift he ordering... My guess would be revtech...

Actually, I dont have any rubbing. I cranked the wheel and drove in a circle and it did not rub at all! Possibly at a complete lock it might rub, bt i was damn near complete lock with no rubbing....

Its only temporary anyway, since the lift will be going in early next week

 

Did you have any issues with the wheels rubbing the caliper? I just installed 18x9 ballistic jesters on my 2013 trd off road and had to put my spider trax spacers back on to keep the wheels off my caliper!

 

just dont take any corners haha
