    Hi all. . .

I'm new to the site and have been looking for an 02 - 04 DC and was wondering how much room is in the back seat or how the seats fold up. I have two large labs that go on camping/hunting trips with me and I need something with enough room for them. I know that the 2nd Gen rear seats fold flat and have plenty of room, but I don't have the $$ for one.

Any info or pictures of the rear seats folded would be great.

Thanks for the Pics. Looks to be plenty of room. I could prbably fab something to create a flat surface. Although, it looks like the rear of the seats sit pretty high when folded.

Is it pretty easy to remove the rear seat altogether?

Theres tons of space in the back of my 2003 DC. I fit 3 of my friends in the back seat for a 6 hour road trip comfortably

Honestly, I've never removed the rear seats. It looks like they're just bolted in, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. Looks like it would take just a few minutes.

6 bolts to remove them as I recall. Not too tough. The floor is not real flat without them though, but you could easily make a platform for the pups. My backseat gets a little crowded with the two bulldogs in it, mostly because Luna is a seat hog.

I have an 01 DC and an 80 lb lab. I just have her sit on the seat in the back and have had as many as 2 labs in the seat at once.

My way of keeping the back seat people friendly too was to put grommets in an old sheet so that I can run the posts from the head rests through the grommets and then down into the normal position in the seat. When I have dogs, I leave the sheet hanging down over the seat back, across the seat bottom and onto the floor. When people need back there, I roll up the sheet and stuff it behind the head rest and all of the dog hair is instantly gone. Just a suggestion that works well for me.
