So I followed this thread by mceagle555 (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/24089-leds-lights-made-easy-interior-exterior.html) for replacing some of my interior lights with LED's and his recommendations are SPOT ON! I did the interior dome light and the two map lights inside. I also did my license plate lights, which look bad ass if I might say so myself. Very straight forward install on all three and took a total of 10 minutes to do the whole thing. The hardest part was pulling out the old bulbs from the map light sockets. It was really hard to get any grip on those tiny little bastards. I used http://www.superbrightleds.com/ and all of the same bulbs that mceagle recommends. I think it came to $19 with shipping. The dome light and map lights are very bright and give the interior a very "expensive" look. Like he said, they are not "ricey" at all. Anyway, super cheap and easy mod.

Looks great man! I changed out my dome light the other day w/ an LED block....think mine has 20 or so on it. I was looking for a place that had map light LED's & you just answered my question. Thanks!

If you click the link in my first post it has the part numbers for virtually every LED replaceable light on our truck except for turn signals.

I'd like to see some night pictures of the LED's on the license plate. Does it make it stupid bright or just add that 'pure white' LED look to it?

I'll try and take some more pics of the interior with the garage lights off as well as the license plate lights. The license plate lights give it that expensive car look, not too bright, just right IMO.

Here is the license plate and another picture of the interior at night. I disabled the flash on my camera so that it wouldn't drowned out the LED lights. The lights appear substantially brighter in person and I am extremely pleased with the outcome of a $15 mod. It just looks a lot "cleaner" if that makes sense. Maybe someone can post pics of their standard "halogen" interior and license plate for comparison purposes.

    Interior (again):

Glad I could contribute to the destruction of your wallet! I also ordered cool white after debating between that and natural white. The cool white has only a VERY minimal blue hue to it. I think you will be very happy with them.

They only cost $1.40 a piece from superbright. I think you can find some at auto zone or pep boys for around $10 for 2 lights. They are usually Pilot brand and I have never had good luck with Pilot lights FWIW.

I did that as well, pulling the map light out wasn't that hard for me.
    Before and after, great difference.

You should do it, it's cheap and easy (like my girlfriends in high school). They are definitely brighter than stock. My wife actually hates when I turn them while we are in parking lots or driving because she thinks everyone is staring at us. Ha!

Thanks for the comparison pic Rakso!
