you have to have a cross member to weld back into the frame, otherwise it isnt strong enough. This is something that could be acquired through selling the lift, and then requiring the buyer to give you the piece cut from their truck so it can be welded back into your own truck.
Also, what size tires are on the truck?

Hey RelentlessTaco.... I was told my cross member wasn't cut bcus I don't have a 4x4? I just have the plain 2wd v6. Is that correct? can i just the cross member from the 6inch and buy the 3inch lift? I have 17 inch wheels and 35' pro comp tires. Do you think I should get smaller tires? thanks

It shouldnt have been cut since you are a prerunner, though its still possible it was. The way to check is to look under the truck and see if there is a crossmember between the frame rails above the rear drop bracket for the lower control arms. If its there, you're golden, all the lift can be unbolted... except you'll need to have the factory spindles to go back to stock suspension. After the 6" is taken off, any of the 0-3" lifts can be installed, though you'll want tires in the 33" range rather than the 35's. Otherwise there will be MAJOR cutting in the front fenders to clear the 35's.

You should still have your cross member! Take a look under your truck. There are 2 of them. The front and the rear. It's the rear on that you are looking for. Make sure it has not been cut. (They shouldn't have cut it)

But my truck has a 6" lift and 35" tires and I can fit in parking structures. What is the height of the structure at your work?
The roof of my truck is 6 1/2 feet tall. most structures are 7ft. The antenna hits everything, but the truck clears.
