    I’ve decided to do a “build-up” thread of sorts…

I bought my 2002 Tacoma Xcab 4wd TRD in August of 2005 with 29,000 miles
As it sits now it currently has in the neighborhood of 95,000

    Here we go

This was taken shortly after I brought her home…if you look closely you can see the rear end of my old ranger behind my new truck and also the rear end of my father’s recently purchased 2005 Chevy Silverado (in the same color) My mother and I have determined that he couldn’t let me have a nicer truck than he did and he went out 3 days beforehand and bought himself a new one. Color was a coincidence

    DSC01321_525848c8c6771b7ab6f16808ccb8485376fbc287.jpg

Notice how clean the interior was

    DSC01322_c49017c5508a77b34d2e4efea092f507ce795c58.jpg

Over the course of the next few months I bought a westin bullbar off TTORA ($50) a UWS black Toolbox ($350 I think) a CB ($30 total spent) some crappy walmart floor mats ($40) and some walmart lights ($20)

    DSC01435_d0ab01d06d85d5e0b35c6a00e5be00fe9a27f54d.jpg
    DSC01564_30ff868ce64009ba9524c95af6b3dc27a43749d7.jpg

I shortly removed the bullbar as I realized that it ruined my approach angle and the lights vibrated way too much…this is now on my brothers 4runner

    I next purchased a set of 265/75/16 Trxus M/T tires ($640)
I also got rid of my mudflaps at this time

    DSC01715_00cee78d1ba38b51bf0f8ee14efbb767f8c57430.jpg

At some point…I got all weird and bought some taillights on Customtacos ($50) but theyre gone now
    08-02-06_1836_36884f35006be657d475284b0cfd3d491af90568.jpg

I also bought some Rustoleum Hammered Black paint and sprayed my stock wheels ($4)
    DSC02831_0ed12fe3b1ec17d249e2fec110f05edbd2ade821.jpg

While out wheeling around at Gulches, I ripped off my skid plate…so I called up Bud…had him ship me one of them fancy ones of his…($300 total)

    DSC02100_44718cd2156b93caf66607071902291459193f27.jpg

After the skidplate…I bought some used spacers and stock coils with rancho shocks ($50 on NCTTORA)

    DSC02243_c9a941a765a890e84f3f07e501fbeb33a8584503.jpg
    DSC02244_419b4fc398d4e87c2111fa572d800934bbbefe86.jpg

After the spacers, I started saving up and bought some 265/75/16 Mastercraft Course M/Ts ($640) an ARB front bumper ($500 NCTTORA) CBI rear bumper ($350) Budbuilt Belly Pan ($100)

    DSC02583_5ea6fd2e3fb266e465454149a3128e83423ac9c9.jpg

On the CBI rear bumper, I initially bolted my plate to the bumper itself, but shortly realized how much of a beating it took offroad…so I moved it to the tailgate

After the bumpers and such, I started shopping for suspension, as the spacers were no longer cutting it for me

    I found a set of Sway-A-Way 2.0 Coilovers with around 20,000K on them ($300) and Wheelers 3 leaf AAL + Bilstien 5125 shocks + Hilift Jack ($200)
    100_2990_d58cb3c4a82fd22a9e8b68b2619276a019fefe18.jpg

    100_3015_d3fbaae6926cdd036ffe32dcf7140dfcfbb9258d.jpg

While installing said suspension I also trimmed my exhaust
    100_3012_4b22c12052e268735222c55509230913efaadd8f.jpg
    100_3013_4bb3559b89f302b599563c35ca379c8ac6832adc.jpg

After the suspension was done I finally bit the bullet on sliders. I called up Justin at Unbreakable Fab in NC and we agreed on a setup and price ($375) so I drove up and we built them and installed them

I’ve of course done various things here and there…added some cheapo lights to the ARB ($40) and then deleted them in favor of some sweet Hella FF1000s Will hooked me up with. I’ve also put in some orange led lights to light the floorboard up at night if need be ($15). My switch for the front auz lights is a factory Toyota fog light ($15). I also added some black Husky Liners to my front floorboards as of this morning ($35 TW). There are also ¾” 7T WLL shackles on all 4 corners ($25 Trail Duty). I used some leftover Rustoleum Hammered Black to paint the tailgate emblems and front emblem and I’ve removed the side emblems except for the TRD stickers. Oh and I added the Redline Tuning hood struts ($60)

Waiting in the wings are the following
    BFG MT 255/85/16 ($550)
    TRD Ivan Stewart Rims (FREE)
    New CV axle ($55)
    DSC02829_5baba9668f3bfe850e6f4c2c81d3f145f7bb49ff.jpg
    noname2_f22a01862d63d3127c816c428accc7535c01a3bd.jpg

I’ve got a set of Wheelers type B 15” wheels as well that will be put on at a later date ($200)

Total cost at this point is roughly $5000 WITH 3 sets of tires included
Without tires Ive spent around $3200

A couple nights ago I also bought a Sportmast flagpole that mounts into my receiver hitch and it was right at $100 shipped

I'm sure there is other stuff i've done or bought that I cant think of right now, but that is the major stuff and some of the minor stuff...

while we're waiting for some pics to upload...i'll "review" my junk

Out of all the purchases I've made, I've only been unhappy with 2 of them and thats really only partial unhappiness. My uws toolbox black powdercoat began to flake and peel about a year ago. As of right now the top is about half black and half bare aluminum. I tried calling and getting them to replace it but its out of warranty...so no go...plus half my sticker collection is on the underside of that lid...in the end i'll prob strip the top of the lid where its peeling and do some sort of bedliner on it

the box itself is fantastic and fits great

the other thing ive been unhappy with were the Trxus M/T tires. At first they were GREAT. They hook up in any terrain with NO issues...

HOWEVER...they flat spot pretty easily and i would have to warm them up before they rolled correctly every morning. I also had a hard time keeping them in balance (typical of an Interco Tire i hear) and in the end I gave up and let them go...

The mastercrafts have been MUCH better in the maint. aspect, but I let my alignment get off and didnt notice till it was too late and now my front tires are worn funny and cupped...hence the purchase of BFGs

I wouldnt change any of my other purchases and possibly would have paid full price for most of it (as i didnt for most of it in all actuality)

I've grown tired of sleeping on the ground as well...and for christmas...im asking my parents for one of these bad boys
    s7_516446_imageset_01_f34c60bbc5cc237e76c0da5c9a5087af59fd3191.jpg

    It's an Adventure Truck Tent.

I've settled on this one because its roughly $250 from Cabelas and its compatible with my toolbox

it wont be as spacious as a normal tent...but ive discovered that about every time i go camping i get rained on and this will prevent me from sleeping in a puddle
