Just curious. Their version is called the Hilux.

They have several small diesels that crank out pretty good power.

The bottom line 2.5L makes 240 lbs of torque at 2000RPM (If I converted it right).
That ought to pull a pretty good load. Wish they'd offer one here, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

if I could afford it, I would import one of the regular cab, long bed diesels in a second

Looks like the hood scoop feeds the intercooler. I think they could have at least centered the scoop, looks kinda funny offset.

Yeah, that does look a bit goofy. I've never seen a picture of one head-on before... guess that's why. :D

They fix the taco lean (even though it isn't a taco) and fix it with off centered hood scoops....damn. :)

I think there is a Toyota diesel conversion place in Austin Texas. I use to have there web site somewhere around here. Use to play with Cummins. You can really turn them up.

I drove an D4D diesel Hilux in SEA. Great motor. Acceleration wise, it's not as quick as the 4.0L gas motor we get here, but it makes WAY more torque. If you wheel, torque is good. They get better fuel economy as well. Really great little motors. Pretty stout truck as well. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if we could get them here w/o having to gray market.
