OKay, So i read that cold air intakes are good and bad? ha. I know there in the engine base and its really not cold air. and all? but like... What should i get? K&N is recommended and so is the TRD one. What do you guys think? i am confused.

x2 man if you searched you'd find what is the most recommended. personally id get a trd, actually im looking at getting one now. afe would be my next pick then k&n. if you get a trd id consider getting an afe pro dry s filter to drop in it so you dont have to oil the trd filter.

Well, i know you guys are telling me to search but i did search but theres alot of opions on the intake. IE: There has been a lot of people saying get K&n its better or the TrD. Never heard of Afe. So i am a newb at that. But yeah and theres certain kinds. :/

well like mike said, k&n has an open box design, so it is going to be pulling hotter air from the engine bay. the stock air filter and box design is actually a cold air intake in itself. it is a closed box design and pulls cooler air from the passenger front fender well however the tube design breaks up the engine noise and make the air a little more hard to get in the engine.

the trd intake is made by Toyota Racing Development. hence id say they have better blueprints than k&n. afe is almost identical to the trd. if you want an intake that you truly get the most out of, look into the urd intake. you have to do some cutting though...

i dont know where you were reading that, any one that recommends the k&n doesnt have proof to back up what they are saying, trd or afe is what you want.

I got the CAI and catback exhaust from TRD. Can't tell you how it compares to others, but the difference was immediately noticable (amazing how much power they engineer 'out' to provide a quite engine) and I noticed a slight improvement on gas miles on the highway (I tend to be the first off the line in city traffic;)

So my vote would be TRD; it works, it looks cool, doesn't void your warranty, and if I hadn't been drunk, it would have taken me 20 minutes to install.
