Best place to mount a cb antenna on leer camper?

    Leer Camper, Thule racks, Cobra Cb
    [​IMG]Im trying to find a nice clean spot to mount a cb antenna on top of my leer camper. Or if anyone has another good mounting spot for this truck. Any ideas or picture advice? thanks

    depends what kind of Antenna, get a 15' whip mount on rear bumper and arch it to front.:eek: .....JK

    I have a SnugTop camper and like almost all campers its fiberglass. Therefore, it will not provide a ground plane for an antenna. So, I used a magnetic mount antenna on the top of the cab.

    If you mount it to the topper, I see 2 definate issues. First is you will have a grounding issue and second is possible/inevitable damage to the topper if you hit something with the antenna. Magnetic mounts are good, if you're worried about the paint you could always put a piece of pantyhose between the magnet & the roof. Otherwise, I'd get a bracket & mount to the bumper or between the topper/bed.
