Welcome!! That looks like an OFF ROAD 4WD... GREAT!!! You have A-TRAC and enhanced 4WD Hi with TRAC... Those photos also look like you took it to Baja!?? El Requeson in Bahia Concepcion, maybe?

You have the best 4WD mid size truck made... and it is great in Baja California as well as Britsh Columbia... Both B C 's!

I have a 2010. I was wondering if you could try this with your truck. DRIVE. at a light or stop sign, put into park or neutral. Wait a few seconds . Put back into drive and let me kn ow if there is any type of delay. Make sure there is no one in front of you. If you have the problem that I have The truck will lunge forward in response to the pedal postion. If you have it floored the truck will peel out. This happens in about 2 or 3 seconds. I reported this to toyota and they are very interested in the problem. They contacted a local dealer and I got a call within 15 minutes of hanging up. The only prolem I had, Toyota coorperate did not have a record of my initial incident. I had a copy of it from 12 weeks ago. They lost it? Any way enjoy your new truck.

If you have it 'floored', it should peel out!
Why would you take it out of drive at a stop sign or light?
Sounds like you are trying to create a problem.
You reported it to 'Toyota' and not your dealer first?
Man, they are having enough problems with people faking the unintended acceleration as it is.

I can peel out from a stand still without shifting it into neutral. This truck has so much torque and it's light in the back. What do you expect?

Throwing an auto into nuetral at a stop is recommended. I did it every time I came to a light. Had it 2.5 years with no problems. But I didn't like how it had the delay after putting it back in drive, therefore I got a six speed.

This condition happens from park also. The thing with my truck, The truck rolls forward like its in gear and then responds to reference pedal postion at the time the computer decides to take the input. I guess you could say toyota computers are as ignorant as toyota???

David you have a TRD 2010. Have you tried this in you truck???

I am not trying to create a problem, I have uncovered one. In fact Toyota cooperate called the dealership 15 minutes after I got off the phone with them and scheduled an appointment with the local dealership. Gee are they concerned. If it was a normal condition It would happen all the time, it happens 50% of the time. As far as reporting it to toyota first, no I had brought it into the dealership. The tech told me to keep complainig about the problem and he couldn't do anything for me at that time. Admitted it was weird also and 08 Sienna had similar problem that was fixed with a reflash. So why would I bring it back to the dealership. The next logical step is toyota and then there engineers.

Also did I metion that the condition happens when coming From Park also. Maybe I shouldn't put it into Park either. what is neutral for anyway and why isn't it gated at the shifter and is given free movement.

Just do me a favor and try it with your truck please. If you wouldn't mind

I shift mine to neutral at traffic lights, drive-thru windows, etc. Then I shift to D and accelerate normally. No issues. 2010 4x4 4.0L Auto. Maybe nothing wrong with mine???
