Aftermarket CAI......right now I have a cheap ebay setup (actually it's very good) that consists of the CAI shield, tube and hoses fitted with an AFE dry filter that I scored on here......I couldn't justify spending $300 bucks for a K&N or other brands so I went with something that worked for me and it's been on my truck for 3 years with no problems. :D

I'll try to get you a pic of what it looks like........the TRD intake is nice and gives the engine bay an extra touch (that's why some guys buy them, they want to keep it all in the family I guess). Personally, I don't care for name brand stuff, I want to make sure it fits my budget and it works. As far as performance wise, I'm not hooking my truck up to a computer and getting all kinds of reads and stuff. I bought it because I thought...it looked cool, sounded even better and would help with some extra power. Which IMO did all the above. It will definitely make you truck sound louder and I think it gives it a little extra push. Having said said that, I would find a used CAI and use the rest of the money for other functional mods like Coilovers/leaf springs/sound system/etc. I think $400 is a lot of coin, remember I bought a complete setup for $75 shipped and then scored an AFE Pro Dry filter for around $30 shipped. So yeah about $100 and I have a CAI that I think does the job. :D
