This is for those that have done this before, I have a couple of questions.

    1) Does having both sides covered cause any issues as far is thickness and bolting on etc?

    2) Also, the bolts that hold it in place, should I paint them black or buy some new silver ones to hold it in place? I bought a used skid plate and the existing bolts are not "new" in appearance.

The skid plate will be going on a MGM Access Cab that is set to be delivered to my dealer on Monday! Can't wait, I've already got plenty of "accessories" waiting on it, haha.

I doubt it will get much "use" at least for a while anyway... I'll likely baby the truck at first and then start "using" it later, haha.

The local Line-X guy gave me a good quote, he said if I was patient and could drop it off and wait until he had other jobs lined up etc. he would do it for $50 both sides...

I'll definitely post some pics of my truck when I get it as well as all the accessories.

I'm leaning toward having both sides of the skid plate Line-X'd then spray paint the bolts a flat black. They are rusted etc, thus the only reason they concern me.

on second thought, since you're bothering to have it line-x'd, may as well get new bolts too. for a few dollars more, worth it imo, than to go the rusty bolt route. i have a feeling these would be cheap at the dealer, like the $1 carpet prongs. if bought elsewhere, is it grade 8 to look for in bolts?

i think it's a waste to get it Rhino Lined..the first time you take it out on a rocky trail and put the first dent or scratch will piss you off haha...

wolfpack 5150 has the best suggestion.."rattle can". it'll save you some cash in the long run but most importantly..a possible stroke while out on the trail from the first time your junk bounces on a rock:D

i don't even bother with rattle cans anymore, it's pointless

I haven't used it myself I was just saying that it could work for the op and have the advantage of spray paint as far as being able to touch it up himself.

If you get standard LINE-X and you happen to scratch it offroading, go get some Krylon Gloss Black spray paint. Apply multiple light coats and "walla" it will look fine again.

I just painted the skid plate from my bull bar black today and that's the reason I just rattle canned it. It had been bent to shit a couple times and bent back so I wasn't spending a lot of money on it. I originally wanted to have it powder coated but I'm not spending that kind of money on something that bends so easily.
