Remove double sided tape from vent shades

    What's the best way to reomve This tape that runs along the window for the vent shades. Bought the truck with them on and I want to remove them without ruining the paint. Truck is white 2004, thanks for any help!!!

    I would try to soak the tape in wd40, give it 10 minutes then clean up the leftover glue with goo gone :drevil:

    might also try removing the shade from the tape using fishing line (acts as a cutting instrument) and then maybe the tape will rub off with your fingers. worked for mine, but they were only on for a few months....

    Yep, Goo-gone is great. It's mild but effective in removing any tape residue or labels off plastic without melting the plastic away underneath. I usually clean up after with some alcohol for a clean finish.

    3M adhesive remover. It's what body shops use to remove pin stripes. I got some from Carquest.

    yup goo gone works good, but the 3m product is what finishes the job!
