Yep - downsouth hooked me up too, even got the TW discount :) 5100's should arrive next week, TSB will be done the week after that!

I've yet to mention the 5100's to the dealer - thought I'd just bring them in with me the day of the TSB, and see if they'd do it for me. If not, I've got a local shop here in town, but I'd really like it all to be done at once.

    Before/after pix to come...

Just got a call from the dealer -- rear TSB springs are in, and the Billy's arrive tomorrow.

When I called to confirm my service appointment, I told them that I had a new pair of shocks for the front, and asked if they'd install and I would pay them for the labor. Expecting a "well, what kind are they, and we can't put on a non-Toyota part" kind of response, I was surprised when the guy told me "sure, no problem - just leave them with the truck"!

After reading about all of the grief that a lot of other members have had getting the rear TSB done, and about dealers not wanting to put on 5100's, I'm pumped! Now I'm just hoping that the instructions that come with the 5100's are pretty straightforward - set 'em at 0.85, and do it right the first time, and I'll be a happy camper...

I've done so many mods to this truck it turned out to be a Dodge Ram 2500! WOW was that expensive!!
I own a '05 Taco 2x4 dbl. cab. I sometimes tow my TT (3,950 dry & 25'-8 length) and of course it's a bumpy ride towing it. But lately the rear end is as squeaky as a stuck pig just getting in and out of my truck or getting in the bed is just as bad. I do bottom out when towing and I do go slow over bumps but sometimes you can't avoid them. I've looked under my truck and noticed where the rubber has hit the frame above the leafs. I'm not sure if I even need a TSB or not or what the cost would be or how long it should take. Signed a confused Stargazer (a.k.a. Lynn).

Thanks to everyone who offered input and advice on the rear TSB!

The dealer performed the TSB today, and also installed my 5100's up front. I went with the 1.75 setting, and I'm glad I did.

Measurements taken from the highest point of the fender wells:

    Before - rear 37", front 35"
    After - rear 38", front 36 3/4"

The truck rides MUCH better now - not only from the 5100's, but also from the rear. No more bouncing/jarring ride. When I stand on the rear bumper and jump up and down, it's firm. If anyone is on the fence about getting the TSB done, just do it!

"I went with the 1.75 setting" So they let you decide what height you want the rear end? Why? What is the range? What setting is the best setting? In order to get it free, do I need to show the dealership the T-SB-0305-08 information? Does it still apply to my truck w/ mileage of close to 70,000? As you all can tell I don't know much about this area?

you can choose 0, .85, 1.75, or 2.5 inches of lift on the front bilstein 5100's, the rear tsb will give about 3/4 inch lift after she settles. i think that at 1.75 you are nose high but to ach his own. and NO they will not do the TSB's if you are out of warrentee
