After doing my homework on the rear leaf spring TSB, automatic transmission TSB and the rear leaf squeak TSB i have been just notified that all 3 TSB's have been approved and parts are now on order.

So anyone who is having an issue with the squeaking in the rear end i would suggest having them look into it. I did not know there was a TSB for that.

Will it make a difference on them approving this for my truck if I have a spacer lift and aftermarket rims?

Not sure on either. I would do some research in the forum and see what others have had issues with when they had non stock items on there trucks. I do not think rims would make the dealer swing one way or another. I called Toyota first and explained to them my issue when driving with about 400 pounds in the back. I used the word 'safety' concerns and well.......was given a case number. Next step was to contact the dealer. Don't tell them you have a TSB and want things fixed. Explain to them your issues and tell them when you called Toyota they ref you to the TSB. They cannot do anything but add the rear leaf spring for safety concerns.

To me i sounds like the squeaking issue has been around for some time. I have not seen a TSB on this but Sean who is the head service guy told me right off the bat there is a 'kit' for the squeak issue. Mine is only when its dry out. So figures it rains today. No issue....they ordered the parts and i will schedule everything for one day.....

So i just picked up my truck. Like i said parts are on order. So they say the squeaking is caused by 'plates' that are not in between the rear leaf springs that when, rust or particles get in between you will get the issue for sure. So when the TSB is done when the leaf springs and other parts are added will be done all at once. :p

    Just the basics
Are there numbers for the TSBs? Does this need to be done before the factory warranty expires?

Yes for the ECM CALIBRATION - T-SB-0373-09

Rear Spring Harsh Ride - T-SB-0305-08

Both can be located on this site.

Just got the Spring TSB. Drove into the dealership weds evening. They got the parts thrusday am and it was done by 12:00. Great service and no problems what so ever. Did it at David Mauss Toyota in Sanford where I bought my truck. They were very good and professional about this. Said my '10 was not in the list for the TSB to reflash as it was newer than the VIN's on the TSB. Going to double check but very happy with the springs. Firmer ride but like it. Rear sits up a little higher as well. Here are a couple of pics. Sorry was camera phone.

Also another note, had the transmission reflashed and let me say. This truck rides so much better now. 110% difference for sure........no more head jerking around from a stop.....

That was done at 1000 miles. I had a knocking going on with my steering column going over bumps.....dealer could not figure out what was doing this so they replaced the entire column and never had that happen again.

Is there an actual TSB# for the rear leaf squeak? I've been trying to find one, but no luck. I've found one for the rear leaf suspension and another one for the ECM reflash, but not one for the squeaking, specifically.

I have not found one but when i drop my Taco i'll ask the dealer for the number. I might even have it on my paperwork at home.

But for sure it seemed to me that its a well known issue with the missing plates in between the leaf springs.
