7 or so National Parks, Using forestry roads instead of Highways, Wheeling across Moab in the desert, and tons of camping...

Been on the road the last couple of weeks and now I'm back. Finally. New girlfriend, life, and road trips been keeping me away.

I know Sam has been yearning for me like a long lost dog... So I'm here to say I'm back for a little while... until next time... :)

For the videos I just used my Moto Droid with the auto mount. I modified the bracket on the mount to expose the camera lens. Made it real easy for capturing video.

The stills I used a Nikon D300 with an 18-135VR lens. Not a very good lens for what I was wanting to do.

I also have about 30min of time lapse video I shot with a hacked P&S too but I haven't done anything with it yet.

    How about brief synopsis.
    Texas > New Mexico > Colorado > Wyoming > Montana > Wyoming > Iowa > > Wyoming > Iowa > Wyoming > Utah > Colorado > New Mexico > West Texas > Houston/Home.

Several National parks, stood on top of a volcano, backwards slide down a muddy trail clipping a tree in the truck, 130 finds on geocaches, summit-ed small mountain in Colorado 8900 elev., Beartooth Pass 11k+ elev, Lots of rain, a bit of snow, camping in freezing rain/snow, wheeling in Moab & New Mexico... I'm sure there is more... but that's what I got right now off the top of my head...

Thanks.. glad you guys like the pics. :)

Here is the time lapse I did at Palo Duro.
I screwed up and pointed the camera at the sun so out of 600 shots (about an hour worth of time) I was only able to use 250 which is 25 seconds of video when compiled.
    Bummer...

We're one a pretty tight schedule and the weather never panned out for me to set the camera up again.

anyway.. here it is.. enjoy (hacked Canon P&S running a time lapse script)
I would recommend viewing the video on YouTube and switch to 720p (HD)

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    Awesome trip.

Makes me want to do something similar, except that I can't take off several weeks for myself.

How many miles total was your trip? Which national parks was most of your unpaved driving on?
