I can search, but..... Toyo Open Country AT

Alright, I searched around and am not finding what I want. Looking to get some Toyo open country a/t's on my stock v6 4x4. P265/70R16.

What kind of tread life did you guys get and are there any reasons I should avoid these tires? Next option is the geolandar a/t-s.

 

I love these tires. i just hit 20k miles and still have more than 50% left. I do abuse the crap out of them and im amazed on the quality of these tires.

 

I have never had them but heard great things about toyo tires.

 

I got 50K+ on my set. Even though these tires are labeled as an A/T, I would not recommend them for anything but the mildest of off-pavement activities.

I did find that traction in the wet was less than optimal. This of course got worse and worse the more the mile accumulated.

Overall, decent for a P rated tire.

 

I have almost 14k on mine and they still look new.
And to Digiratus, I walk all over the guys with BFG A/T's in the mud and sand. I have yet to be stuck(knock on wood) offroad and I go out a lot on job sites and for personal recreation. Also, at 50k, any tire you have is going to be slip on wet pavement...I have yet to have problems on wet pavement.
Overall the Toyos are a great AT for the money!

 

Toyo Open Country M/T's are going to be my next set of tires for sure love the aggresive look...

 

I would put on the M/T's, but they don't come in the 70 aspect ratio. And I'm not doing a lift until this winter. Then I will get those.

 

Where i live toyo tires are very common. I wouldn't recommend the M/T's. They are soft and seem to wear out rather quickly from what i have heard

 

I had them on my '05... after running Cooper STTs for 35-40 K miles.

The Toyo Open Country A/Ts were great... quiet, did well in sand, etc. I replaced them after 30,000 miles (under 35,000) as I don't like running tires down to nothing... get flats otherwise. I hoped for better mileage than that, but I have rarely gotten close to 35,000 miles on any tire.



I replaced the Toyos with Cooper Discoverer ATRs, a similar truck tire to the Open Country, and they did equally well on my '05 Taco. They were on the truck when I traded it for my 2010. I suspect the Coopers were only going to give me 35,000 miles, as well.
