Solid fold vs. trifecta??

I am getting ready to pick up my new Tacoma next week and have been planning on getting the Extang Trifecta cover, but like the look of the Solid Fold a little better, but here in Canada it is $850 vs $430 for the Trifecta.

Is it worth it for the extra $400??

wait!!! Extang has a new version of the solid fold coming out mid summer, its called the "encore" it is half as thick as the solid-fold and it seals alot ALOT better.

Yes it will be worth the wait and money

Thanks for the reply. That one looks really nice, I sent extang an email and they came back and said that the encore will be released in 8-10 weeks, but they couldn't tell me a price compared to the solid fold.

Does anyone have any idea if the encore will be any more than the solid fold???

it should be comparable to the solid fold. they have released no prices to anyone yet

 

A catalog from cap-it here in Canada shows the solid fold as $899 and the encore as $1099. The trifecta shows as $499.

I am thinking of waiting for the encore. I didn't see it at the store today.

I've got the Solid Fold...got it through AutoAnything.com when they had a free shipping deal and used Bing's soon to be extinct shopping cash back to get 90+ schmackers back...

I weigh 240+ lbs and stood on it to wash the roof of the cab...I dig it...

Only thing was it didn't line up perfectly with the front and back of the bed...Could have been about an inch longer...but AutoAnything shipped a stick on gasket (normal price almost $30) with the solid fold...

 

By the looks of things, Something isn't square! Either your bed, or the cover.
If it's the cover get them to send you a new one!
If it's your bed? Make the dealer install a new bed!

But what ever it is don't just take that shit! FIX IT!

 

I dont think the beds are square stock, are they? Anyhow, Id be a little pissed about the fit of that cover regardless. If the trucks are perfectly square stock, then the cover should compensate for that.

 

All the hard trifolds are going to leak. Have you check this one out? Advantage Hardhat has a hard layer underneath it's vinyl. I have the vinyl only version and can vouch for Advantage Accessories' design and quality. It's around $450-500
