will these 2009 stock wheels fit on my 98 tacoma?

I have a 1998 Tacoma 4x4 and was wondering if the stock wheels from the 2009 tacoma will fit onto it. they look like they will but i havent taken any measurements. Thanks

 

If your 98 is a 6-lug yes but if its a 5-lug no

 

yea its a 6 lug i didnt even know they made 5 lug.

 

most 4 cyl 2wd's are 5 lugs haha

 

The bolt patterns will match up no problem but I think the 2nd gen stock alloy wheels are all +30 mm of offset whereas the 1st gen stock alloy wheels are +15 mm of offset. The difference is about 9/16ths of an inch.

2nd gen wheels mounted on a 1st gen truck will be tucked in 9/16" further into the wheel well. Depending on the tire mounted on the wheel, you could see some rub in front on the upper control arm. I don't think there are any interference issues on the brake calipers.

There are several TW members who are running 2nd gen wheels on their 1st gen Tacomas.

 

hmm ok. I have 30" bighorn maxxis tires I was going to run with them. They seem pretty narrow but is there a way i can tell if ill have rub?

 

What is the actual size of the tire? 245/70-16?
