Thank you guys! Here's a desert/beach place so yeah, i think i will be going with the AT's, my first choice is BFG's because is the most popular brand here and i dont know if i have a lot of choices since we dont get as many brands as in the US, i think we have BFG's, goodyear and Bridgeton fireston... oh, and of course, dunlop lol, ill go to Cotsco and see if they have those General Grabber, everybody wants the best quality for the lowest price so ill be checking that.
Thank you all for your comments, if you think any other brand mentioned here has good tires let me know the model so i can check them out too!

    Thank you!

MTs look much better even if you are not going off road. If you want to get more miles and less looks go with ATs. If you want all looks go with MTs.

The MTs are execellent in the rain...

    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=Mud-Terrain+T/A+KM2

They are better in rain and snow than the ATs according to Tirerack.

    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=All-Terrain+T/A+KO

The only downfall to the MTs is they will only get you somewhere around 40k miles

i love my m/ts but on a prerunner i would say the a/ts would be more practical.

Just a bunch of old crap
You couldn't pry me away from my MTs. I ran the ATs for years and put 70,000 miles on my last set and still had 20% tread left. I loved them, but they left me spinning in some holes when my MTs haven't let me down yet. I live in AZ and hit sand, rock, mud, wet roads, and I drive 80 miles a day on freeways without an issue. Actually I have had better wet pavement traction with my MTs than I ever did with my AT's believe it or not. Yeah, mileage sucks and they're not quite as practical in some aspects, but I love the stance they add to the truck and they're alot of fun. You only live once.

How do you figure when M/T description on tirerack states :
"While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and the absence of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces."

Click on the links and you'll see the survey numbers are better for MTs than ATs for wet and snow.

    Two things to consider:

The number of surveyed miles is 100x greater for the BFG ATs and also, they are in different categories.

Also, tires are compared against their category peers. It isn't statistically sound to cross compare. It would be outrageous to say that the MTs have the same dry traction performance as say, g-force T/A KD race tires (even though they have the same survey score for dry traction).

I put some bfg all terrains on my 05 prerunner about two years ago and i haven't had any balancing issues what so ever. During the first year i was doing a 65 mile(each way) commute to work each day and the tires still have about 3/4 inch tread left. Now the stock BFGs that come with the prerunner, those tires are pure shit so thats why they wore so quick. As long as you're doing tire rotations and balancing when needed you'll be fine dude. BFG A/T's all the way!

as much as i love MT's; if you're looking for the clean look, the AT's are what you want. but BFG, nope.

Interesting to see most who don't like the BFG TA's are from warmer climates. Not sure if that has anything to do with the performance of them but I can tell you I've tried many tires...BFG TA's on multiple Toyota's and Dodge Ram, Nitto's at's, DC FCII's, Hankook's, Goodyear at's, and BFG KM's. I keep going back to the BFG TA's...performance in snow/ice is better then most and I have no issue balancing or with tire wear(averaging 50k miles/set). Nitto's were good for the first 10k then traction got terrible. Goodyears i had a similar experience but I am tempted to try the new Duratrac's. BFG KM's are terrible on the ice and vibrate something awful on the highway(i have them on my truck now...hate em.). Now the Hankook's are on my wifes Sequoia and so far(35k miles on em) they are awesome. Wearing like I'll get 50k no problem and performance in rain and snow is top notch. I dunno, a mud terrain looks sweet but performance just isn't there for me when its going to be used on my daily driver. Maybe if it was my dedicated rock crawler. just my 2 cents. Good luck with your decision.
