mag light mount

i was looking thru the cheap/free mods and i was wondering if any reg cab guys used a different location that worked out well for the mag light mount. reason i ask is because where it mounts in the thread, us reg cab guys dont have the added plastic at the bottom/side of the bench seat to mount to like the bucket seat guys do.

 

I'd recommend somewhere behind the seat. I made my own mount instead of buying one. This might give an idea. It may not be te same or work with a second gen taco though

thats not a bad idea, i was actually thinking of mounting it on that corner there. first, i'll have to get the light to see exactly what size i'm looking at

 

A 4D maglite is the biggest that will work with my setup. Since it has to slide upward along the curved/angled interior, the size of the light has to be limited. You may be able to fit a bigger one in your second gen though. I think there are actual clips or snaps for maglites which would eliminate any size problems for the light.

 

i dont have a pic but i mounted mine to where when you open the driver door its almost parrallel with the seatbelt vertically..its perfect

 

just want to make sure im understanding correctly, you mounted it parallel with the belt on the inside of the truck right? not on the inside of the door

I have the exact same setup as Simons Mom only i have the giant maglight haha...its a perfect spot
