I am looking to get a tool box for my truck. I've been looking at them on craigslist and I can get a steel one for about 75 bucks. But I've noticed that there isn't a lot of room between the wheel bump out things in the bed and the edge of the bed (by the back window). Is that going to affect what tool box I can get. There are some on craigslist that poeple took off there ranger/S10. Would those work? Thanks.

If its not a real deep box, one of a ranger or s10 will work. If its really deep then the bottom corners should be angled. The box should be around 59-60'' for a 1st gen.

If your wheel wells go to the front of your bed (to the back window) you will need this box. (this is on my truck)

the wheel wells don't go all the way to the back window part. there is a gap about 8 inches or so.

So if it comes off a ranger or S10 it should work right?

edit-what kind of box is that in the first pic?

Measure how long the box is (from front of bed back) and how deeps it is. then put a tape at said depth and measure out the length of the box. if it hits the wheel well, it wont work.

I bought one from a guy who used it on his S10. Fits great and the corners that face the back of the truck are slanted to go over the wheel wells.
