my wife was going through some old pictures the other day and found some of the tacoma after the crash. this is the passenger side the dent behind the tire is from a wood 4x4 signpost that was snapped off by my truck.

it is pretty amazing with the amount of damage that is done to the truck i walked away with only cuts and bruises. the worst of them was on the right side of my head where my cellphone came unclipped from the cupholder and smacked me on it's way to the rear seat. if the fire department had not cut off the battery cables i could have started it and drove out of the ditch where it stopped.

here is another picture she found. this is my 89 toyota, v6 5 speed and yes it is 4x4. it had 4" suspension 3" body lift tilt bed tinted windows that shiny chrome along the bottom. i thought it was a pretty sweet truck until my daughter came along. then it was just a pain in the ass to put the baby seat in the back, and even worse to put the baby seat in front and the wife in back. i sold this truck and bought the tacoma.

i am considering opening up my shop to do work for other people. i do enjoy rebuilding trucks and cars. my current project is a 73 fj40 cruiser frame up resto. it had a 327 chev, but everyone has a fj/jeep with a v8. mine will have a 4 cyl turbo diesel, the engine i have is a duratorq made by ford. back to my tacoma, i was at my uncle's body shop last week. he was looking at my truck and pointed out that my rear axle is bent. we are not sure if it's the tube or the flange but smoething is bent. it shows when you look at the truck. the driverside rear tire is heading out towards left field while the right is right in line. also i pulled the rear springs and had the main leaf replaced on the driverside then had both springs rearched to get 2" of lift. the passengerside is perfect the driverside still sits low. while my uncle was looking at the truck he pointed out a kink in my frame rail where it arches over the rear axle. i think when i get that pushed back up in place it should sit just right. there will be pictures when i get time to fix it.
