Yep I've seen that. I'm not seeing that issue with the guides on my rack and the thing I talked about yesterday is totally unrelated. I think it's an EXTREME suggestion to say "DON't BUY AN AAE/SAFARI RACK" . Just because one rack is showing play in the guides prematurely, doesn't mean they all are. And for that matter, reman'd factory racks have been known to have the same issues sometimes and been useless right out of the box. I've even seen a new OEM rack have play in the guides.

Bottom line is OEM is the best option and best quality. Anything aftermarket is a bit of a crap shoot.

Hey Adam, are the Dakar leafs supposed to move your axle forward a bit ? I'm installing mine and doing one side at a time, the center pin seems almost 2 inches forward from the OHM springs, I got the + to the front

It's a common thing for the axle to move forward slightly with the Dakars. Mine did and so have lots of others. I ran mine like that for a couple years before I did anything about it. I used some axle relocation plates from 4Crawler.com to re-center the axle.

Also, rather than relying on the + - to determine the direction the springs are installed, just make sure the military wrap (double wrapped eye) of the spring is at the frame end, and not the shackle end.

Gotcha.... thanks for the reply man...got it all installed.... I'm a little worried about some rubbing in the back now, but oh well, all part of the modification journey I guess... was working by myself and I get to second guessing things sometimes when I don't have help. Thanks again for the info, I may do those relocation plates as well at a later time.

What size tires are you running Mike? I trimmed the flares and even a little sheetmetal at the front of the rear fenders on my truck running 33's.

Pretty sure it has to do with abs. Does yours have abs? Mine does and I have it, yep.

    Stuff
This. The abs sensor is at the 12 o'clock position on abs equipped trucks which puts the ebrake bell lever at the 3 o'clock position. Non abs trucks just have the the ebrake bell lever at the 12 o'clock position

Adam, Im ordering some shock relocation tabs for next weekend's project. I was wondering what tabs you used from Ruffstuff (probably going to copy your setup).

Looking at these for top and bottom: http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/STAB175.html

But was also considering some of these: http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/STAB175.html

Also considering these for lower shock mounts" http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/STAB-CURV.html

I still need to cycle the suspension to get a better idea of how the shocks will fit, but since they are 10", the 3" bottom mounts might help these fit a bit better... Let me know what you think and thanks!

I used the paired shock tabs from Ruffstuff. I used two of the paired flat tabs for the upper mounts since the new crossmember was sq tube. And I used two paired 3" axle tube tabs for the lower mounts.

Oh ok. For a second there, your pictures looked like you used the 1.75" tabs on the axel but the 3" tabs make more sense.
