    Update:
    My pre-moab checklist is:

    1) modify my bed rack a little and have it powder coated. (at the powder coater right now.)
    2) add a new rear crossmember and relocate rear shocks (fabrication started)
    3) u-bolt flip (ordered)
    4) install rear spring relocation plates (need to move the axle back about 1") (ordered)
    5) trim front fenders/firewall a little to clear the 33's at full stuff
    6) if time allows.....clean up some wiring and get all my lights finished up.

Nice. So what is the plan for the relocation? Are your leaf packs staying in their current form for now?

Hey Box Rocket, I've seen you chatting with other folks about fab stuff. You've referenced what you call "whiskey bends" here and there, but I can't find where you describe how to do it. I want to fab a skid plate down the road but I have no way to bend stuff nicely.

Mark where you want the bend and cut through with a cutting wheel enough that you can make the bend by hand yet retaining strength in the metal at the cut then weld where you cut.

Pretty simple, I thought there was going to be more to it than that, lol

Leaf springs are not changing for now. I'm happy with the Dakars with the extra leaf but the truck is heavy when it's loaded for a long trip. The Dakars are doing ok with it but I getting close to their limit so I might try some Allpro Expo leaves sometime in the future.

But yeah I'm using some relocation plates to move the axle back a little since at full stuff I rub the front edge of the wheel wells a little.

As for the shock relocation, I'll be adding a new crossmember for the upper shock mounts, and new lower mounts will be welded to the axle housing. The plan right now is to still keep the shocks close to vertical but tipped backward slightly. That could change based on the measurements I get for droop/compression. I'm going to reuse the OME Nitrocharger shocks which are a little short in the stock locations but I think I can still make them work and not limit travel with the mounts in better locations.

Also doing a u-bolt flip and adding to extra bumpstops.

Yeah this has already been answered. Whiskey bends are pretty simple. Just cut part way through and make the bend along the cut and reweld along the bend.

Thanks man. I'll let you know, but it will all depend on my work schedule. Might be mid-april before I actually get to any of this.

I won't be boxing the frame. I have the outer frame plates already.

All the stuff for my ubolt flip and shock relocation has arrived. Now I just need to find time to do the work. Working 7 days a week right now doesn't leave much time for anything. And when I do have some time I have a wife and kids who need some attention.

Have I said that I can't wait until this stupid deadline is over?!?? It's already killed two of my big wheeling trips this spring. SUX!!!
