    They are getting the axe. Toyota is stopping production at the end of the month and dealers are limited to like 5 sales per month or something until they finally sell off all existing stock. So get one now while you can before they show up on ebay for 10k or something

    That new body style is much improved then the previous gen. The dash is kinda funky lookin though, mainly the radio surround area. Nice truck though. What number did you end up out the door at?

    Good price. Thats a lot of truck for the price though as opposed to some of these fords and chevys that are 50k

    Got a solo motorsports LT kit coming my way. Partial bedcage, king triples, the works. I was told you can run shocks outside the frame rails if done properly on the 1st gen by them. I have also read many members say no. Is this possible using stock trd axle because I want to keep it simple plus retain the elocker? Notching frame? Any input would be super helpful. He has a first gen himself, and has done many so he told me confidently I wouldn't need a tundra axle.

    You might be able to outboard the shocks on a stock axle, but you would need some pretty aggressive wheel spacers and likely a frame notch. Hell I've seen people notch even with a tundra axle. It all boils down to shock placement.

    You need a tundra axle if you want to to try to match your rear width with your front width. I would suggest getting a tundra axle to throw in if you're getting a Solo kit. AFAIK it's a pretty easy drop in, I'm sure Jason can elaborate.

    On that subject,

    Jason you said an older econoline axle is best to match up for second gens, how new can they be?

    I also found a '91 f250 10.25 axle that looks like it could work, 69ish wms(haven't purchased). I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of getting all the brakes and abs and everything set up. I really don't want to start pulling fuses for that stuff. Should I just stick with a newer tundra axle and figure out that headache instead?

    Yeah, I might just do that tundra axle. Was going to run 2" spacers to try and come close to the 3.5" the front will extend out. I don't do lots of jumping and whoops like you guys out there.......my wheels are kmc with huge negative offset.

    Up to mid 80's. 1986 I think. Not at home so can't look at my scribbles.
    I would do a ford 9" way before I would do a new tundra axle. The carrier support is stronger with a 9" and aftermarket/gear ratios are endless with a 9".
