What MX said. I don't change oil unless I'm past 5k. It still works good up to 6-8000 some say even 10k.

    And yes. Dual tacos! :D

    This

Yea I remember Jon pulling his after our crazy muddying escapade. Had tons of mud in them.

Maybe ill drill some 3/8s holes in them

Hahahahahahaha right! You can tell I got better with the torch as I went lol. Was tricky at first.

Monte, at what point does one begin to classify your truck as a bad ass offroad RV? :D :p Let me know when you add plumbing... Then I'll be impressed. MAYBE. ;)

Okay did so,e welding tonight..didn't go great..well..it did and didn't.

Here is the top plate. 3/8s think now ha..

    1fdbde36013148bd2d826d4fa4c6ad50_zps090a_8090566c4d2f5d6d892bd6e6d9f5ba7d8023b118.jpg

And here is the bad..the oil fill hole

    2c01fb393ed6f063feb9aba07a92c87b_zpsd20d_3554584dc74a033681186f6e843bcc66c5964bf4.jpg

Burned it in way to fast. And the lower section warped.

    606844930bc4b63a9571a2c198c29af1_zps3867_55c688ecab8147756e30a1e30926d753b496e0f7.jpg

So that pissed me off  :frusty:

Going to force it back on to the truck then heat it a bit and hope for the best. Or try something else. My dad said we can fix it so I'm sure we will get it close..won't ever be totally strait again tho...damn it.

And welded my tire gate part. Need to grind it smooth tho.

And still no jerry can holder.:smack:

Why'd you cover up the access to the oil pan anyway?

And I don't think you'll notice the bend once the skid is mounted to the truck.

Yea what my dad said. But I need it straighter to weld on the rear piece  so mad at myself for being an idiot..

And Jerry can part happens tomorrow don't worry. Tho I can't find the hinges I bought last year..hopefully they turn up.

And the hole was huge man and it didn't even line up. So I filled it. Didn't need it and it would just catch on stuff.

Just weld up that rear piece as much as you can while it's mounted, then remove the skid to finish it up.

Well this will be my last update for a long time. Got told tonight I am headed to AK tomorrow afternoon. Will be gone for a long time.

But I finished my skid today.

    0707faa7853a16497aea8cb8fea238ed_zps2003_73f63fca43f647deaa6c4b38f804bb2546b6f95a.jpg

Hen welded it up and ground down the bottom so it was smooth. No paint is on it or anything. It'll just have to wait.

Ill have a little time before my big August trip. For then ill need a new clutch oil change and hopefully finish my table, swing out lock, Jerry can holder, and shower as well as swapping in my new cv axles.

So lots to do..and no time to do it in.

Idk. How much access and time ill have to get on TW while I'm away..but hopefully some.

    Thanks guys.

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the skids being straight, just as long as they will bolt on. I bent my 1/4" skids the 1st time out with them. 1/4" is tough but it will give when abused enough especially as heavy as you and I are.
