    Got some stuff done

    New tail light came today

    2012-07-16_20-32-09_513_ebeb06beb95b5f870716bf91964368f35d198d33.jpg

    Also prepped my cb stuff

    Took out this grommet

    2012-07-16_20-35-05_122_0f94349e442796a13cc71c9038310171b5d49fcd.jpg

    This guy

    2012-07-16_20-35-39_529_f83f524a7c1c7ee0a7d0641eb654aef986b3d258.jpg

    Cut an X in it

    2012-07-16_20-36-27_13_9c91ebdadb0c8987f1620a6fa04fe9dea08bcf8d.jpg

    Pulled the cable through

    2012-07-17_00-00-44_122_e94dde1c8a812f2c646625ebbf2aee9cd62859a0.jpg

Now for mounting I tried making the radio flush so I trimmed the back out

    2012-07-16_23-31-50_971_541b469506df8c375fea672aa63d8043e32cad55.jpg

While it fit good and the speaker was still shown..the coax cable in the back would be slammed against the heater core which I didn't like. Thankfulling I had a spare :p so all was good

    2012-07-16_23-32-04_926_27a4a0951af1a572752cd699e33eeefea0c227b7.jpg

So now it just sit out a little bit. No big deal

Put a lot of the dash together as well

    2012-07-16_22-39-35_962_3823f1f43f65d771275055ca82459ce805c8fb1f.jpg

And then put these on the rails to see how they looked. Gonna be slick I think

    2012-07-16_23-54-09_549_8820ea0e87673607721ce699788eda3c47e86c7d.jpg

Next issue it the antenna. I bought a 5' foot one and was going to put it on the bed rack rails..but it would sit sooooooo high.

So was thinking maybe on the rear bumper? What do you guys think?

Looks good man! Quite a relief that you're bringing this truck back to life, most would've given up after it rolled.

Isn't it better to have the antennae as high as possible? :notsure:

Were you able to save much of the bed rack?

Ya after all this work..cant say I'd blame someone for not doing this haha

But ya that's what I though and mounted on my bed rack would put the antenna so that about 4' would stick up above the roof  have hell of a good range tho...

And yes most of it. Should that the bed rack back together very soon. The roof part will be hard to remake tho,

I'd mount the antenna somewhere on the bed rail perhaps? Or just fab up a mount lower on the rack.

There are holes that run along the underside of your bed rail that are great for zip tying the coax to and running it though the hole underneath the bed rail where it meets the corner near the cab. Worked well for me and no drilling required.

Was :p I'm going to have a 1" steel plate run under the bed rails to bolt the bed rack too for a more secure fit with all 8-10 bolts that my new tie down rails

Then I want a reinforcement rails somehow.

Outa those donahoes or however ya say it haha they need rebuild huh? Amd are just standard travel correct?

If they are in good shape I'd say anywhere for, 300 maybe 500 bucks for the right buyer

Why aren't you just gonna rebuild them?

Well right now I can't afford to have the truck down for two weeks to get rebuilt, so i was thinking just buy some new Icons and maybe some upper controls and sell the ones I have:rolleyes:

Its coming back together. Nice work

For your CB, get a 90* connector for the back and you wont have the clearance problems with your coax. That's what I'm using and it works great. You can also heat up the heater duct back there a little and reshape it for a little better clearance.

For your tie-down rails I'd consider mounting them to the vertical part of the bed rails. If you mount them on top you complicate the mounting options for your bed rack and you're pulling things at a strange angle when you tie things down. You'll find that the tie downs up that high make it difficult sometime because if you're like me you aren't hauling thing taller than the bed very often.
