Well I finally able to use the winch. It is slow, but it worked great! Did exactly what it needed no problems. I'd recommend it, if you don't mind it's speed it's great. Free spools smoothly too.

    Me too :pout:

Anywho, I was able to get some major wheeling done over Labor day! Not many problems really. I had the steering shaft slide out of my u-joint at my orbital... Mark had the same issue on his truck... Not sure what happened. Probably just excessive vibration and didn't check it ever for tightness; easy fix.

My biggest problem I have is that I BENT a leaf spring on the driver front leaf... Not really sure how, but pretty sure the leaf is trashed... Not too happy about it and hopefully Davez offroad can help me out on this. I beat the shit out of my Marlin Crawler springs and never had any issues with them bending like this.

Front diff has a slight leak :D

Got some new body damage...Finally dented my passenger side.... I think I can pop it out though. I gotta keep one side clean!!!:cool:

    Anywho, pictures.

So... Mark and I finally got to tackle the leaf spring project on my truck. The leaf springs were set on the axle at 36" wide... Well we all know they should be 31.5" (ideally) but, of course the jackass who built this truck initially... well yeah.

We had to move the leafs inward to allow for me to turn since my tires were the limiting factor by hitting the leafs.

Here is our jig we set up to make sure the leafs are straight..

Before we set up the springs I had to straighten my leaf spring that I bent... we put it in a 20 ton press and left it over night.

    Shackles tacked on

    Marks welding... front leaf hangers

    Welding the spring perches on

    On and painted

Here is the shackle angle after the work... it's actually a little flatter... This is where we ran into a problem... I thought the leaf springs were 47" long so I set my spring hanger eye to eye at 43". I had a 5" shackle so essentially the math works out correct and that they cannot flop back to the frame... Well they were 47.5" long and if you compress the spring all the way it causes the shackle to flop back. A simple fix will be to put a 6" shackle on it and it'll fix the issue. For the time being I will do that, but in order to fix it I need to move the front spring hanger forward .5" or 1".

Well it isn't much... But I am putting on some new fenders...again haha. I couldn't resist for $100 shipped for the pair. I also needed new corner lights that will be going on.

My last set of fenders I cut...WAY too much out of them and it makes the truck look like it has bro lean way more than it should.

Here are some shitty photos... I am also going to paint these this time... :spy:

But it makes it hard to get away if you plow and even harder if the plow truck is the tow rig. My buddy mike will be in with his 4runner. I'm not sure if I am going to bring my jeep or ride with him.

I don't but most of my friends do. No big deal just means I can't use any of their trucks and will have to tow with my van. If there is alot of snow I will tow mike's 4runner and he can sleep on the ride then go back to plowing when we get back.

Its one of those deals where a buddy plows and has some large accounts so all the friends think its cool and put plows on there trucks and help. Plowed some when I was younger and never really enjoyed 4 am plowing parking lots.

Well here is some comparison of the fender shots I took.

Here is a :spy: shot of them right now

Did some wheeling this weekend too. Just some small flexes

And now for the monster flex lawl. I had about 2" of down travel and about 2" of uptravel left on the other side... And the rear wasn't doing much. Not the best spot to flex but it's the only good one I had.
