Finally got my axles and tires for my SAS, now I just need coilovers. I won't be using these leaf springs or perches, if anyone wants them let me know, local pick up only [IMG]

    Nice, man. I'm subbed! :D

Looks like a nice Ford HP D60 right there!! That's a very nice find.  What's that rear axle? It looks quite a bit narrower than the front... What size are those tires? Looks liek they're almost bald... What are the rest of your plans for the swap? Any plans for dual t-cases are will you just run the stock chain driven case? What size coilovers are you hoping to run? Going to use a kit for the links? Plans for the gas tank? Or are you kust doing COs up front....?

Also, paweeeeeeaaase post some pics under the hood! :D

The rear axle is a sterling 10.25. I will be using ruff stuff 3 link kit in the front and the rear with ads coilovers, probably 14" but maybe 12" if it it will fit. The tires are 42" and they're pretty bald, only about a 1/4 of thread at best, but for right now I'm just doing the basics to get it done, and for the price I got them I figured why not.
I do plan on getting dual cases, but like I said right now in doing the basics to make it run and ill upgrade as I go along, dual cases, new tires, chromoly shafts, 31 gallon auxiliary tank, and then full cage . But this all cost a lot of money that I don't have so it's going to take some time lol

Sweet. BUT U NO 4 LINK REAR?!?!?! If you're going to do the 31 gal aux tank, then why not go with a 4-link kit up front and eliminate the retarded panhard? A semi-triangulated 4-link w/ no panhard/trac bar is a lot better.

If you still want to go with the 3-link rear so you can keep the stock gas tank for now, do you plan on doing any high-speed off-road stuff (ie jumping.....) If so, than you may want to consider at least replacing that panhard with a watt's link. If it's not your intention to jump your truck or go racing through the desert, then you should be fine with the ruffstuff panhard 3 link.

Either way. This looks like it's going to be a sweet build! :D

No I don't plan on jumping or racing but maybe from time to time with that v8 I might have to lol. But I'm trying to build a rock crawler, the reason I'm doing a 3 link is cuz I've heard from my buddies that its not a huge difference between a 3 and a 4 link when it comes to off roading capabilities, and since the auxiliary tank will probably be one of my last upgrades, why spend more money now to move the gas tank. I'm trying to be as recession proof as possible without cutting corners

Started my SAS, pics of the axles cleaned up. Only thing not shown is the brake conversion on the rear axle, just waiting on the rotors to come in

Finished rear axle (10.25 sterling) with artec truss and ruffstuff disk break conversion and diff cover. All it needs now is paint (going under the truck today)

So this weekend we got the frame chopped off, and made a new one using 2x4 square tubing. It's shorter than the stock frame and much high for more clearance. Also got my rci 22gal fuel cell in, and got the back half base color painted for the desert camo paint job.

I haven't updated this in a while, I've got my links in the rear finally and the truck is on it's own weight, but no coilovers yet, I'm going to have that stuff done last to make sure the ride height is the same front and rear. Decided that since I'm doing an Exo cage why not have a convertible Tacoma? Chopped the cab for some cash and am getting ready to take apart the front just need to sand and primer my rear. So much to do, but the possibilities are endless

    Question for ya!
Still have any blue prints from the design around? I'm working on the same 4 link setup on another rig. Why did you put the top two links angled like that to the pumpkin? At that angle rather than straight 90 degrees to the axle dont they arc out at opposing angles throughout full travel?
    Thanks!
