Jeff's build

So I just picked up a '99 SR5 V6 extended cab. Stock truck with a few dents and pealing paint. Already started sanding off the clear coat. Will post pics tomorrow. Planning on doing my own camo paint job in the next week or so. Next will be lift and tires. Truck will be used as daily driver, hunting truck, and mud toy. I'll update my progress and any tips or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Haven't been here in a while. Just thought I'd show my rattle can paint job. Was looking to get it painted but didn't want to get off the dough so I did it myself. Not too bad. Jeff's build-imageuploadedbytapatalk1356471620.569180.jpgJeff's build-imageuploadedbytapatalk1356471632.918820.jpg

Next will be the lift and tires. I'm looking to go 6". Any recommendations?

Decided to go with toytec coilovers, blistien rear shocks and emu leaf packs. Debated ordering a complete kit but my leafs were shot so I wanted a whole new pack but couldn't find a kit that had them. What y'all think of this setup?

Ordered a 3" body lift this week. Now I have to decide on tire size. Any recommendations?

you'll probably need new u bolts.

i wouldn't put that 3 inch body lift on. thats a pretty huge body lift and your ride quality may suffer.

BUT with that 3 inches, plus maybe 2.5 to 3" from your coil overs, I think you could fit some 35s. that would look really good.

Interesting truck, it's good to see variety.

A 3" body lift sounds crazy to me but I guess that's how you southerners roll... big lift, big tires, and mud

Not too familiar with changing gears. All I need to change is the ring and pinion right?

Get a full install kit. Should come with new bearings/seals. You'll want that in addition to just the ring/pinion.

Would 4.56 gears from a '97 Z71 work? I can get front and back for free.
