    just dropped them off to get decked and boiled, 170 bucks is pretty cheap IMO. pays to work at a dealership get a discount that i see beeing pretty cheap.

    just got my heads back from local machine shop, for what i paid i think it was a great job, super nice guys.

    started ripping into my transmission last night,
    this is how far i got in an hour, needed some large snapring plyers to get a snapring out so i had to stop. just thought i would post this. ive done alot of research on this trans and rebuilding it. and i said to myself why not? anyone done one?

    complete gasket kit came in last thursday and purchased some TRD headers Last night and should be here by the end of the week.

    this is where i have made it to as of last night and last weekend.
    Friday pulled my hood, grille, fan, air box, belts, (didnt have alot of daylight left after work)

    thing was out and on the ground by 12:30 me and my buddy pulled it in about two and a half hours. not cutting stuff out.

    so after it was out, my Wife and I went to the zoo.

    then i put in some ARP head studs (from lcengineering) reguardless of what they say they do not fit under cam gears all studds were same length and had to get 4 OEM studs for under the cam gears.

    Trd headers built and decked heads.

    Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
    Nice progress. Props on ripping open the tranny. While you have it open, thinking of using the upgraded 'blue' clutch packs? Aslo I recently bumped into TransGo-- looks like they have a shift kit for dirt cheap, a comprehenssive "VB upgrade" that IMO is done right (not using shims or solid rods, but stiffer springs and drilling holes in the right places).
