    ^thank ya sir!

saaaaaooooo. after the LBL trip i'm back in the expeditioning mood. my truck is still going to be an all out SASd tank but i want to add a few things most extreme builds don't have.
first of all the SAS was originally schedule for fall. that is pretty much on hold now due to me moving to TN in the next few weeks.
i am going to eventually build an expo trailer to pull behind since i'm going to lose most of my bedspace when i sas.
i already wanted OBA but it just so happens i scored one of these last week for free minus all the attachments:
it'll air up my 37's a heck of a lot faster than my lowes 12v compressor does. i think that thing takes 20min to go from ~10psi to 30psi. i may mount it under the bed and build a box for it. not sure yet.

next i want on board water. i'd like to do a giant tank on the trailer and include a heater for showers and whatnot.

No, I just hate finding out the guys running 35s or 37s have a 4cyl because I keep trying to convince myself when these tires wear out I have no need to go higher than a 33, it's just not practical. . . but I want to ha. I'm going to do my best to never go above 255/85s but if I get another DD who knows.

Love the truck, man. Keep at it

i wish i had the v6.. a little more power with a bed load of gear would be nice.
when this motor eventually dies i'll throw the v6 in it. i have a long while before i have to worry about that though.

Why bother. If you're bumping up you might as well get a better engine than the one everyone else has . . .

you'll hate MPG after you go past a 33 lol. i also remember when i said i'd never go bigger than a 33" either.. then i got tired of getting hung up on so many obstacles wheeling.

way too big, too much gas being guzzled i'd think.

i've thought about a 2jz swap. also entertained the idea of a boxer swap. the boxer i don't think would produce enough low end torque for the work to be beneficial.
the 2jz just.. idk. it's my fav motor but i gotta make sure everything is fully reliable on expedition runs too.

Yup, right now I can keep it well above 20mpg in the Summer. Especially on my highway trips. But this winter I did a lot of short few block trips and was getting about 14. My wheel and tire combined only weighs 58lbs.

I can't imagine what would happen if I bumped up to steel wheels and 35s. Just doesn't make sense for a DD.

I'll likely get another Sub someday and then hack up the Pickup.

for my next nice car buy i'd love an sti, or even a wrx that hasn't been riced.. that is just too rare though.

though this isn't build related, i'm moving to Tennessee in a week so all the mods have been put on hold for a few months. once i get settled in and all that jazz i'm hoping to get a new DD(and maybe a bike, r6 raven!) and start preparing for my SAS.

ls3 eh.. you wanna fork over the $$ for that? you won't need that extra $$ when you sell your rig :)

all their stuff is wonderful! except jeremy's old school stuff he did alone, i'm not a huge fan of that.

Actually the 1uz is pretty fuel efficient.

2jz will be pretty reliable as long as your LEAVE IT ALONE. it'll be tempting to push and push the power outa it. But if you leaving stock. Open the exhaust and call it a day. It'll be plenty reliable.

Plus come on...long expeditions in an SAS bobbed tacoma?...nah. You'll get another rig for the real long trips I bet. This will be the hardcore rig

yeah but see if i go 2jz of course i'd have to have it twin turbo'd. and getting a tranny that is geared low enough to be worth it seems like it's be more work than what it's worth.
actually i'd LOVE to make this an expedition extreme beast. i can already haul all my camping stuff in my bed and cab, and i pack extremely heavy.
when i sas i'm going to do a bed cage and removable sides so i'll lose most of my storage back there. that's where an expo trailer would come in. build my trailer and all that can stay in there. on all of our big meets and trips we do we'd set up camp then go wheel. i want to make sure i'll be able to hit everything i want to while doing so. which i mean right now there isn't much that stops me anyways lol. but sitting on 40's will be the future
