pretty much. i spent quite a bit of time making sure the template was perfect and then kinda just cruised through drilling. that top nut and taking apart the stock air box to seal it took the most time out of anything.

so it's been a while since i updated my build thread. It's been mostly small things but here goes........along with a photo dump from wheeling yesterday with shmellmopwho from CA.

reinstalled hood blackout (hides the hail damage pretty well actually)

derped rockers (test run to see if i want to bedline them)

    painted sliders

installed new spedo gear (thanks for the help Mike )

FUBAR'd a spindle on my rear bumper so i'm waiting for parts for that..... again

    Installed a safari snorkel

    photo dump......

Awesome first picture on your build haha. How's eveything man? We got home from the trip a couple weeks ago and my wife said to me when we were going to bed "babe, I'm really sad were not sleeping in our tent tonight" haha. So were planning a trip in March from LA to Canada up the coast and back down through the middle of Washington, Oregon, and California.

haha, pretty good place for it i thought. Everything is good man, just trying to find time to work on the truck. I cleared out everything this weekend so i can spend it working on my rear bumper and try to get it either done or most of the way done. My GF has (on multiple occasions) threatened to sleep in RTT in the driveway.

Hopefully the rest of your trip went smoothly. Were you able to make it up north and go up toward wrist canyon?

and holy hell, that's another good trip to plan. I'm hoping to be able to put some good miles on the truck next summer.

Good to hear brotha. Haha yeah man I wish I had a little more time to work on mine too. Are you doing a plate or tube rear bumper? Haha if you get in an argument instead of sleeping on the couch you can go to the RTT.

The rest of the trip was amazing man. Went up there to the address where my dad grew up and checked out the area for a little bit. SUPER COOL!!! Went through Wyoming, up through Yellowstone and back down through Idaho and Utah. Had such a blast. Can't wait to do it again.

Haha yeah man it should be a really fun adventure. Gonna take Pacific Coast Highway all the way up and really take in the whole West Coast. Gotta come up with an invention or something so we can get rich and have all kinds of time to go explore and not have to worry about working and stuff!

nice. glad the rest of your trip went smooth.

I have the Trail gear rear bumper that i have sliced and diced for dual swing outs. it's about 50% done. finally got my replacement spindle so i can actually get some work done and start the two arms and the latch

Haha thanks man! Definitely a trip to remember! Took only like 5,000 pictures haha.

Oh gotcha. That's super cool man. You gonna do a tire carrier on one side and Jerry cans on the other?

Definitely post pics cuz I want ideas for when I start mine

things I did today...... cursed....cursed....cursed again, then some more cursing and somewhere in that profanity filled workspace I managed to replace the inner and outer tie rods as well as the lower ball joints on the truck.

I have a feeling my funny tire wear problem was caused by the inner tie rods. They didn't look like they were doing so well when i pulled them.

hopefully! time will tell i suppose. if nothing else it makes me feel better having replaced everything after pulling all the parts. LBJ's and inner tie rods had seen better days

every other outside lug is worn and the trailing edge of the center lugs (fronts tires only)

do u have ucas? sounds like scrub radius wear. saw tooth pattern kinda? and lack of rotation doesn't help either

i'm hoping, but jace did bring up a good point about the scrub radius
no uca's yet. those will most likely be coming with the new suspension. huh, didn't think about scrub radius. yeah, sawtooth pattern describes it pretty well. this wasn't an issue for the first 10-15k on the tires though which had me a little perplexed. i rotated every oil change until this started happening then let it be seeing as i was looking into new tires anyways

this was my thoughts too, but i am curious what jace has to say.
