    got my paranoid fab switch plate and OTRATTW switches mounted and wired. text lights up with gauge lights and icon lights when circuit is active. amber LEDs top and bottom.

    Just returned from a quick one-night trip out to Kalaloch in the Olympic National Park. Tent performed flawlessly, even in the torrential downpour we endured this morning haha. Not a drop or leak inside.

    Crap! Have a fair amount of freeway wandering/pulling going on so I'm sitting at my local alignment shop and am finding out that something in my steering is "sticking". Could be upper uniball joints or steering rack. Have an appointment for next Thursday for diagnosis.

    Any suggestions? There's definitely *something* wrong, hence the alignment...

    If it is the rack, is OEM the only way to go?

    Sorry to hear this David. That sucks.

    Wander or stick? Seems like two very different things. Wander I know about and would be typical of low caster (less than 2*). The fix is aftermarket UCAs like my Camburg uniball UCA. Sticking or a hang up during turning, I have never had.

    From what I have read (and the route I will follow when time comes) is an OEM steering rackis the way to go for quality and longevity. Several TWers have tried Safari racks and some have had problems. PM TimmyB or Squeeky Penguin for details and recommendations.

    Good luck, hope you figure it out quickly and it isn't too expensive. :eek:

    Thanks, Mike. Castor is still at 3.5 on both sides and it was set there by this same shop about 2 years ago. Haven't touched it since. From my limited research so far, a new OEM rack is sounding like the best deal (but OUCH @ $750 from the dealer) overall for longevity/warranty/etc.

    Nothing is leaking at this point, so I've got an appointment for next Thursday for diagnostics.

    It might just be that my upper arms need rebuilding (I also have Camburg uniball UCAs). Hopefully that is the case.

    Castor was still good, camber was a little out and toe was even more out. Nothing crazy, but enough that I got it corrected while I was there to keep from scrubbing the tires.

    I asked because the wandering you are feeling could be caused by play in the inner and outer TREs and not the rack itself. Play in the TREs would show up in the Toe settings.
