Well officially started getting ready for the trip. Removed everything from the truck and brought it inside to give it a once over.

I also started to remove the rear hitch but eventually said F-it and I'll cut it off...

O ya....reason for removing the hitch is the beds gonna get bobbed next weekend! Going to pick up some material this week to make a rear bumper after words.

What does everyone think...10" or 13" off?

If I ever did it, I'd cut it to be the same length as the double cab bed so I could have the option to put a shell on it.

That'd be 13 1/4" then! I'm kind of thinking 11" that way it puts the bumper 1.5" past the shackles.

Bob enough to make it significantly shorter, but still retain some use of the bed. 11 would probably be good middle ground. My dad took 15" off of his 1990 bed...man the bed was pretty much useless. 2 dogs were cramped in there.

Well it's pretty much useless right now with the 35 spare in the back. I'll be building a bed rack like box rocket to get it out of the bed. And a bed slide wooden box with rollers the full length of the bobbed box 10" high. 2 pull outs. One side for recovery. Other side for oils and spare parts. I'm tired of having shit in the box moving around. I've already built the shell of the box at work.

Today will be day 1 of bed bob. Going to get the hitch and frame cut out and hopefully every thing marked and ready to go for the chop on the weekend.
