^Yeah, that's the idea! (Hopefully, he'll be wrenching with me an a few years too!)

Also, since I get more questions about the Evo than my truck, I'm just going to add a little Evo section on the main post with mods and such.

^haha, yeah. My car isn't as built as yours, but it's still a lot of fun. I'm hoping to get either a CBRD BBK-B or FP Red next year. After that, I'll probably be done with car mods for a while.

Also, I finally have news on my truck. My old exhaust rotted out, so I got a new one from Lakewood Muffler and Brake. They saw that my truck has been in the rocks and went out of their way to route everything out of the way. Also, they said that if I hit anything with my springs or rocks they'll redo the work for free. Not bad for a $150 job!

Yeah, that seems cheap. I've been thinking of getting my tailpipe rerouted over the springs like that.

Thanks! I went with a cheap, generic muffler. I think it's a 2 chamber design because you can faintly hear it from inside the vehicle... mostly at idle. Once you get to the higher frequencies, it gets pretty quiet.

Yeah, I figured I'd give it a try. I like the idea of getting the exhaust out from under the truck. I'll post up if it ends up interfering with anything but, at this point, it looks pretty good.:)

that is how mine is done, but mangflow muffler and a 3'' tip. Only 180 for me! well worth it. I have only managed to knick the tip of it a few times..but not damage it. I love it. Sounds awesome and is tucked away and keeps the exhaust exiting far from the cab so not a ton of cab noise...sorta..mine is kinda loud now just cause..well..its a loud muffler but whatever

also sad i am flying home for christmas so i can't stop and say hi :pout: i will be sure to hit you up on the way home for summer break though.

I like the sound from Magnaflow mufflers too. I used on one the B18C swap I did on my wifes civic and really like it.

And don't worry... the Evo should have more power for you by summer. :)

Nice work on the muffler. I need to redo mine and was thinking of doing it myself. But, for that price it would be easier to just have it done, I figured it would be $300 plus job. Did you do from the cats back? If so, before or after the Y pipe? Basically, is the cost with or without the Y?

1st gen Y pipe doesn't hang down at all. No reason to reroute it.

Man... I could talk all day about this. But, the short story is that I don't think they buy me any extra travel with my stock length springs. Within the springs range of travel, the movement is much smoother. But, stock length springs just don't twist the axle enough to really allow the Orbit Eyes to shine. Right now, they move pretty well on the compression side, but don't move much at all on extension because the force on the joint is so light.

If I were to do it all over, I'd go with a chevy 63" spring pack and try the Orbit Eyes on the main leaf. Or, what I might try is just moving the spring perches an inch or two towards the center of the axle. Then I'd get more twisting flex, keep my load capacity and wouldn't spend any money...

Yeah, that price was from the cat back. That being said, I'd give them a call and see what deal they can get you. They're a small family owned shop and seem willing to work with people.:)

Here's the cheap, Craigslist Roof Top Tent! I got it with a 4 bar roof rack system for $350. My thinking is that this will be a relatively cheap way to give RTT camping a try. If we really get into it, we can upgrade later on and probably not loose too much money on the deal.

True. Something IS better than nothing. It will be fun to use it when I do White Rim later this year. The plan is to build a rack over my topper so I can run the tent on the Jeep or the truck. I can't wait to get out and give it a try.
