1st gens are fairly easy to convert, almost all bolt on and under 2k to do it. You should go for it!

Is that even possible?? Haha how can you fabricate things but not be a basic mechanic?? Mechanical stuff is so much easier, fabrication takes some real creativity and is more of an art

My buddy let me borrow his plasma so I've been working away on the bumper. I'm out of wire for the mig so I'll have to get some more and should finish it up Saturday. Gotta have the plasma back by Sunday.

Got one extra gusset in before I ran out of wire, one more to go. Also marked out where to cut for the receiver.

In the process of trying to get the receiver out of the hitch that I took off. I set off the smoke alarm in the house and the parents weren't too happy about that so I'm done for the night haha.

Since I'm cutting up the old hitch I went ahead and cut off the tabs that bolt to the bottom of the frame and am going to weld them to my bumper so that I'll have 8 bolts holding it on instead of just 4.

Picked this up for free today from Fireturk41. It's a welded 3.83? complete third. Will give me a chance to try and regear it myself with no rush to get my truck back together. May rob the pinion bearing out of it for now though

This thing is freaking sweet! I really don't want to have to give it back. Blows through 1/4" like butter and its so clean. I googled it and it runs like $1200

I had 5ks with my old retros and I put 5ks in my brothers. I ordered XB 6ks this time instead of the morimoto ones

    Nice man, should look good.

Bought some more wire and capped the ends of my bumper today and got my last gusset in. Dad destroyed the tip on the plasma so I have to find somewhere to buy parts on a Sat...

Ha I know nothing about these things. My buddy drags it and I have been dragging it and it worked just fine till dad turned it all the way up to 30 amps.

I've already priced it. I have to get a tip and an electrode but they both only come in packs of 5 so it will be like $50 for everything

My buddy brought me a new tip and electrode for the plasma so I cut a slot for my receiver. I could not for the life of me get the receiver out of my old hitch so I made one. Turned out pretty good I think. Need to figure out a way to brace it and tie it back into the main tube while leaving enough room to reach up and get the pin in and out. May bend up some tube or get some more 1.5"x1.5" cut 2 pieces to do it.

Also, I started to plate it but didn't like where it was going so I took it all off. Have all my plates cut so I may give it another go later

you should consider a reinforcing ring on the end of the receiver. There's a lot of force out the outer edge that can bend it and make it sloppy without some extra beef on there.

Make sure you gusset the receiver too on the backside.
