They have their ups and downs. The flex is amazing but the ride on the road is alright. They are super soft so you get lots of wheel hop but for $50, I think I'll put up with it since it won't be the dd forever. They ride really nice on roads that are well maintained. If you have the tools for the swap and don't mind a slightly bumpy ride sometimes, I say go for it! You really can't beat the performance for the $$

Edit: I have a 4 pack with overload but am only running 3 leafs and the overload. I plan on doing 6" shackles and taking the overload out and I may try the 4th leaf back in but we'll see

You can def take leafs from other packs and add them in. The popular swap on here is to add 2 chevy leafs to your existing pack, it's called the OMD spring. 4x4 has a thread on here all about it

I saw the omd. The only reason I said from the taco is that Matt (bandit) gave me his packs after installing his new one

Can't hurt to try it out but I think second gens have the same saggy leaf problem. Worst comes to worst you just take it back out

IMO you can get almost as much flex out of some other springs and have a much better ride and little to no wheel hop like you get with the Chevy springs. I can't argue that they're a great option for the cost, but are somewhat permanent since you have to move spring hangers etc.

To me it was worth the extra cash for a good set of springs designed for our trucks. I'm still a huge fan of the OME Dakars. If you relocate the shocks they flex very well. The stock location of the shocks is the limiter with most springs and I think relocating them should be done regardless of the springs used.

    OME flex......not bad

That's a good point. If you mod for 63's, there's no going back. Like Box said, price was my big thing when I went with them since I was making $8/hr then... haha. Our rear setups look like the flex about the same as they are now. I still plan on adding creeper joint shackle hangers and 6" shackles so I should get a little bit more when it's said and done.

I wish it were that simple. I'm making an offer on a house tomorrow and if I get it I'm going to buy them and start cutting since I'll have a garage :D

I'm pretty excited. Still don't know if I wanna stuff them on ifs or start a solid axle build. Sas would mean I would have to get a dd and I don't want to right now.. But I also don't want to put money into the ifs (gears, lockers) just to cut it out later
