Ha yeah I saw you had one and didn't seem to have any complaints so for $20 I said fuck it, why not? Even if it only lasts a few years I can just go buy another one and still be only half the cost of a Dewalt

Thanks man. Sleep is next haha, work 3rd so I've been up since midnight. I may hold out on the install till my ballistic joints get here in a day or too. Still have to make the mounts for those but don't have any good way of cutting a curve in square stock. Do you think a jigsaw would work? Or I guess I could cut a V then round it out with a grinder

You can do it with a cut off wheel. Just have to make lots of slices and break them off. Them go back with a flap wheel and clean it up.

Put on my EBC green stuff pads today. Damn what a difference over the wearever golds from advance auto parts. I think it's safe to say I know what pads I'll run on this truck from now on!

Oh, and while putting the pads in I found the source of my "wandering" at highways speeds. The inner tie rod on the passenger side is TOAST, like 1/4" of play toast. Watched a Low Range Offroad vid and it looks super easy I just have to track down some big ass wrenches. Or I could just use a crescent wrench and adjustable pliers or a pipe wrench like the guy in the vid. Moog inner tie rod is $65 from Advance Auto.

On a different note, a member on here is selling his 82 pickup and I have been really thinking about buying it since it's a dream truck of mine but here's my conundrum. My plan was to turn my taco into the weekend wheeler/project vehicle and pick up another car to drive but if I buy the pickup obviously it would be the primary wheeler but I would still want to build the tacoma which seems kind of wasteful to have 2 trucks that do the same thing (except the 82 is solid axle). Selling the tacoma is not really an option, I love this thing way too much and have to much attachment to it. So should I take the ~$4k and buy the pickup or take that money and get bumper, sliders, 35's, and 4.88's with arb's for the tacoma? Here's the link to the pickup:

Didn't waste any time with the tie rod. Already picked up a MOOG and put it on. It was stupid easy. Took it for a quick drive through the neighborhood and can already tell a difference, much tighter and my steering wheel is perfectly straight now!

I know, it's dirty and my cv's are slinging grease.

Also snapped a pic of the rock lights since I finally got them wired back up.
There are no lights on in the garage, just my rock lights, ditch lights, and halos

If it were me I take and build the Tacoma, but on the other hand I love first gen trucks. I'd flip a coin it's the only fair and logical way to spend 4 Grand.

Haha you see the issue? I can keep building the tacoma but in the end I still have an ifs truck but the same money can get me a pretty built 1st gen that's extremely capable and sexy.

Are you still building that runner? I haven't checked your thread in a while.
