Engine was a mess and found a birds nest:

    Cleaned up after RC finally:

Found two new scars I think from a branch kicking up into the truck:

Gotta rebuild that caliper, it's sticking all the other ones were wearing normally.

Oh snap I finally have a lift! Thanks to Greg (@ToyRyd04) I got some coilovers for the truck. The stance change is incredible. I only have a shackle lift in the rear so I really need to get on building a chevy pack to get some rake again.

    Before:

    80F81AE0-21D8-4111-8010-888C34255522_7cbecb58d303be5fb08f4e7f0d69d68fd24a87ad.jpg

Notice how the top of the coils are all touching each other. Over 200k on these stock coils. And the past 50k have seen some heavy wheeling.

    During:

Also re-centered my steering rack/tie rods after we botched the install a couple months back.

And cut off/disconnected my schwag bar:

    And rebuilt my starter:

Super stoked on the outcome and stance. This was also the first time the taco has been in the new garage.

Took measurements (floor to fender before I found out hub to fender is the way to do it.)

    Passenger before:
    0F58DE64-334B-4BB1-BE94-0D81738AA43D_d90f1f11ec6d80afed6d1827ddde9bd79fbe58b9.jpg

    Passenger after:
    AB3C7991-38E8-455D-B127-FDD5C152811C_5b8f2bb32f52e1b9711bcd98470d5c7741ad1021.jpg

So overall gain on drivers side was 3" and passenger was 4". May put the top plate spacer in the drivers side to offset the taco lean.

Sick Mike, congrats! Can't wait to see where you end up with your truck at the takeover event. Unfortunately I'll have to settle for pics until I get my shit in good enough condition to make the haul out there.

    Looks great!

Thanks Mandrew! That sucks though dude, I gotta sub to your build for updated pics. How is it going?

Also now that my front is finally lifted I am getting some maintenance out of the way. Since I had to pull the skid to do my steering rack shit I figured it was a good time to clean and paint.

When I pulled it I found a bit of sand on it...

    0b8588a29f367d7421ee11f4d0f16f9b_119ae1d8c3cd8b4535dd4f9275a87fe3cee4a392.jpg

It's also taken quite a beating at RC:

    B883729B-9024-4DB3-A27C-31312FC366CB_561825a7f1a115316716686f6fe1ad6d852c69f5.jpg

So I cleaned and painted it up:

    FE7C8CD9-B944-4B54-8BAE-06E9182E8254_64798c879a42d2b401c8aa11d9e4a6b36c02d515.jpg

Next big maintenance project was to do my timing belt/waterpump/accessory belts. I have never changed a belt before let alone did a timing belt before, or a waterpump for that matter. Got this kit on ebay that had everything I needed. I ended up getting the tool that let me not need to remove my ac compressor or camshaft pulleys. This made it so I did not need to replace the seals on those pulleys, the tensioner, or the number 1 idler. This is where I was at after I removed the radiator, fan clutch/fan, and top cover.

    9A1BA158-013F-46B5-A8D5-D0DBD195A5B8_1_7532d7a9695de69c6f0a8568201e525464f9bf02.jpg

Then I had to remove the crankshaft pulleys/bolt. The impact made easy work of pulling the bolt. I did have to go out and buy shallow impact sockets to get it on though. Then I pulled the old waterpump.

    D037FD5F-FF66-4687-A2E4-6E4E75742701_e03d3830dbcac4639d326552558bbadac2a5f7b8.jpg

After I scraped the gaskets I put the new one on and reassembled. The timing belt had marks on it so I set all pulleys to TDC and attempted to get it on. Turns out top pulleys were on perfect but crankshaft was off a tick. Rotated the crankshaft twice and confirmed it was off. Had to pull it back off and try again. Second time I nailed it thanks to the help of many texts to @PSU Taco85 and @nj636. Then it was just a matter of reassembly. The other hard part was torquing the crankshaft pulley bolt back to 217 ft lbs. I made a tool that let me do it but it didn't make it out too well.

    003D3038-98EF-4E12-BF61-B09C255D5FE2_252ad1eeb0cd00c64ea8b04992daf4cfd28c4b1a.jpg

I also used the in gear in 5th method as well.

Busted a weld nut on my radiator and while the new nuts jb weld was drying I fixed my HID spots:

    FE6CEBC5-234C-4F91-8874-844BF6D60BBD_0b550686f9ca169426135832a54ee0419eab8eca.jpg

Threw in new coolant and fired her up and success:

    D6D82C0F-7B60-48B8-A98F-A805E0F2FBDF_b231ac0fca3db9cd6df633fc54c4b0e2449e1cdb.jpg

Definitely a huge undertaking that took me all weekend but I was extremely satisfied with the results. The last time the timing belt was changed was at 78k and I have 204k on it now so I was running on borrowed time.

Next projects will be rear brake rebuild, front caliper rebuilds, rebooting my spare cv's since both my stock cv's boots just exploded on me, and eventually an AC system overhaul. Too many projects, never enough time.

Haha to be honest I am only doing what's necessary when it is necessary and when funds allow. My calipers are definitely sticking and I hear grinding in the rear so both are due. I hope to have some cash this fall to build a nice rear suspension setup.

Well I attempted my first brake caliper rebuilds this weekend. Turns out one piston was seized on the drivers side and two on the passenger side. Had to bite the bullet and get some duralast remans from Vatozone. I am happy I now have a nice front brake setup again but still pissed because if I knew they would seize and I couldn't rebuild em I would have done the tundy upgrade. I checked all my fluids and should be good for the NTC takeover this weekend.

Oh and I found this on Thursday coming home.

Treadwright says the issue is in the casing, not the tread so no warranty. They only gave me a 10% discount on another tire. It is supposed to be here by wednesday so I am hoping it will. I really don't wanna miss this trip because of this.

Oh I forgot I added some rice and got the skid mounted back up too.

The only downside to constant working on the truck is the never ending mess it creates.
