Finally got all my Tundra brake parts in. These are 13WL (231mm) calipers off a 2007 Sequoia. I got pads and rotors from Toyota, and new brake lines from wheelers. You can see in the picture below the banjo bolt have been made to cover the nipple inside the 231 caliper. This will make for a bolt on install. You can see that the salvage yard color coded left and right calipers... :/

I also went ahead and replaced my single 16" fan with twin 11" fans. You can see the outline of the old fan. So far the truck runs about 5-8* cooler at idle. Together the 11" fans move the same cfm as the 16" fan, but now the whole radiator has air being drawn through it..

Well, I went ahead and picked up an A750F out of a 2003, V8 4runner. I have a multi mode t-case from a 99 Limited 4runner that I have been really wanting to use, and this will be when it goes in. Only one small problem...

I'm sourcing an extension (tail) housing from an A340F, and see if I can make something work. The output on the 750 matches the coupler in the multi mode t-case, and the extension housings are the same length, and from what I can tell are close enough that I just might be able to make it work. We shall see.

Once I figure out what is going to happen with the t-case I'll know what I need to do with the engine harness.

The A750 is a 5 speed Auto. The gear ratio's are pretty close to the R150, and should be way nicer than the A340.

Arrrrggggg.... I'm slacking. My Tacoma has an older sister now. She is a 97 T4R. It's a limited, with an elocker. I'll be honest... I love this thing. I've been playing with this for the last few months and got distracted...

    IMG_20151007_180757408_2831da03de73a2a3631261c552a4056557ffd415.jpg

Anyway, my stock front brakes where getting down to the end of their life, so I went ahead and swapped the 231mm calipers on. I also put new Toyota pads and rotors in the front, and back. I can't believe how good this thing stops now. I can't believe I waited this long to make the changes.

As far as my motor and auto swap goes, I sent my ECU out to a friend for some repairs. Once it returns I can finish up my wiring planning and won't have anything left to do but tear it down and start....

    Stay tuned.

I finally got around to uploading a video I had of "fish fossil" in Harlan KY. It's kinda long, and you may want to fast forward some. I'm not very patient when it comes to computers. I put all the clips together and here you go....

Great video! That area looks like a blast! Right around the 4:50 mark also looks pretty gnarly

Thanks! That trail was just right for my full bodied Tacoma. That spot was pretty tight. At around the 6:15 mark you can hear the bud built skid paying for itself.

Finally got the 99-00 multi-mode transfer case working with the 01-02 ADD motor. I know, I have a messy shed, and a rat's nest of a wiring harness. All that will get cleaned up once it's finally installed. The video shows the system running through the motions. One light (near the left header outlet) indicates AWD, and two lights indicate 4wd. No lights is 2wd.

Installed new cup holder tabs in my 01-04 center console, along with a new serpentine belt, and finished rebuilding my rear calipers.

Then I broke out the presher washer and some polish... Not bad for a 16 year old truck.

    Small maintance update.

For the last 4-5 months the accessory belt has been chirping/ squeaking. I replaced the belt with a one I got from Toyota. It fixed the issue for a week or so, but the noise came back. This time it was almost a constant squeak that was very noticeable in the cab with the radio at a normal level, windows up and even could be heard over the roar of the tires. It was at this time I called and got a new tensioner from Toyota. About 20$ more than the part house equivalent. Worth it for Toyota quality. I also took this opportunity to install a used power steering pump to replace the current pump that I hurt when the pressure line was cut by the alternator pulley.

Old tensioner next to the new redesigned unit.

    IMG_20160210_173826395_d4141e6fdfd2962b753d1b9db0dcbda88e7b9922.jpg

The intake tube, right cam timing pulley cover, power steering pump, alternator, radiator and fans had to be removed to replace this part.

I am considering swapping a 4.7 into my second gen. I can get the engine and transmission used for $1100. So what advice do you have for a guy wanting to do this swap. I want more power and hopefully spend less than a new 4 cylinder considering mine is seized.
