Upgraded to the best of the best rack from bamf... Jerry had one that was shorter to fit my needs all ready to go :) hopefully will be powdercoated next week.

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna leave softopper off during the summer and the tent on the rack for camping season :) I don't particularly care for shells but it is nice to have from time to time - that's why I got the softopper. Before, I had to employ a friend to help me remove the shell, and find a place to store if removing on a whim. Now it's just a matter of folding the soft top and undoing the aluminum bed rail pieces. Easy peasy.

Mostly I keep the shell up cuz i like the look haha

Saw your engine out... Crazy stuff. I think that was the right move tbh, rather than buying a new(ish) vehicle.

It will, I'm sure. The trannies are pretty strong from what I've read.

Now that i think about it the engine was really all that felt wrong with the truck. Just got my CVJ's in the mail and I'm supposed to get the ECGS bushing fix in the mail tmrw. My truck is probably going to be down for the rest of this week for the new engine but in a few weeks i might be texting you asking questions about the CV swap lol.

nice sounds good. My mechanic that is replacing my engine always says things are gonna be crazy hard when i ask him about stuff other than what he is currently working on.. (my guess is so he can get out of the extra work?) When i told him that i got the bushings and the cv axles he flipped out.. I hate it when people beat around the bush, just tell me you don't wanna do it! lol.

EDIT: My mechanic is hispanic and has a hard time understanding me sometimes lol..(which is probably why i always think he is trying to talk himself out of work haha..) I think he thought i meant re gearing my axle. I'm going to just have him do it. But ill let you know if i still need some tips.

Oh cool! Yeah it really isn't that hard but an annoying job... I always seat the seal wrong and end up doing it twice haha. Have him replace the bolts that hold the hub to control arm (I think?) they are the ones on the bottom.

Man.. I wish I could be there when he was doing it but I have work. How hard would it be to do the bolts after it's all said and done? I'll check it out though and try to tell him. Thanks for the heads up.

Thx man! Softopper is going to be replaced pretty much full time by the bamf bed rack - found out from jerry I can run th rtt on top and spare tire on bottom side of rack. Gonna be a heavy mofo... I guess the rack is gonna be close to 200 lbs, plus rtt, hilift and spare. Hence leaving that ish on most of the time :)

Do you have a link to your rig?? I'll take a look... You can always post a pic here if you like. Thinking of going tg bumper? It's a pretty sweet deal, I've grown to like mine a lot.
