    Other stuff:

    Deer Mod:

    Progression:

The truck started it's life in my possession as a daily driver and vehicle to satisfy my somewhat newly found interest in offroading. I picked it up from a family friend in 2011 with somewhere around 90k miles on it... Just a clean little grandpa truck at the time.

First modification was tires and wheels. I knew I wanted to lift it, and conveniently BFG made a 32x11.50x15 KM2, which allowed me to fit them on stock suspension for the time being - with a little rubbing here and there. But, nothing a BFH couldn't fix.

Then along came TacomaWorld to ruin my life.

    OME 882 coils
    OME Nitrocharger Sports
    Skyjacker leafs (garbage)
    Extended rear brake line

    919657c6-136c-4303-afef-5bf381ba19eb_zps_5e1e0f466147c112ff6c3939cda4940a8d8199e7.jpg

Drove the truck like that for a while, did a little bit of wheeling here and there. Mostly hauled a bike around and explored and learned the trails.

Picked up an All-Pro Apex during a group buy and added some Rigid Dually LED's and CBI brackets along the line.

Softopper for expo points. Still really enjoy this thing. It's nice having the ability to fold it up and out of the way when needed and still having a place to keep things dry.

    Picked up some 33" KM2's from @Blackdawg

    [IMG]DSC00346 by joshipps132, on Flickr

Purchased rock sliders from Addicted Offroad and had them welded on down at their shop in Fort Collins, CO.

Waited a little longer than I probably should have, but picked up skid plates from All-Pro. Just in time for a little TW Wyo meetup that evening/following weekend.

Front diff grenaded around New Years 2016

[IMG]Untitled by Joshua Shipps, on Flickr

I was living out of state at the time, and it took a few months to get the motivation to fix it. But, I replaced the diff and did a bunch of much needed maintenance, including upper and lower balljoints, tie rod ends, CV axles, fluids, alignment...all the good stuff.

As far as modifications go, the truck has not received much up until recently. Decided to hack some holes in my cab corners and squeeze some 35's under it :spy:

Thanks! Much more to come! Took me about a year to really get used to the vast terrain and appreciate what's here, coming from Florida especially where the furthest horizon is maybe a mile away, besides the ocean. However, the mountainous areas truly are a world of their own, absolutely gorgeous. I don't think I could live anywhere in this region without mountains.

Picked up a Softopper from their factory in Boulder last week and got it installed last night/this morning. Will take me a little bit to get used to seeing the truck with a topper but overall i'm very pleased.

The construction seems durable and sturdy and I'm anxious to get it out and do some camping and wheeling with it to see how it holds up. Installation is very straight forward as long as you read the directions. My only issue was fastening the buttons on the bed rail. Had my shop been heated up or if i waited for a warm day it wouldn't have been an issue, but thats no fun is it?

My original plan was an RTT but i saw the Softopper getting put to use much more than an RTT as the winters here are fairly long and the camping season quite short. Bed space was also my selling point considering i like to haul a dirtbike or 2 every now and then and having an RTT/bedrack wouldn't allow me to do that without buying a trailer of some sorts. I think with a good sleeping bag and maybe a self-inflating pad, camping in the bed should be quite cozy!

You should build a simple platform in the back and then just get a foam topper for a bed.

Thats definitely not a bad idea, i checked out a couple links in your thread people had posted about bed platforms a while back.

I'll have to try it out a couple times and get a feel for it cause when i climbed in there a couple times to adjust things i noticed the headroom is alot less than i thought it'd be. Maybe if i could build one low enough for some storage underneath and still have enough room overhead it'd be totally doable.
