so I am about to buy a Flowmaster 40 for my 04 taco. I was wondering if anybody knew the inlet and outlet size, and if not where do I go to find it

Wrong section next time try performance. But the inlet and outlet for a 04 would be 1.25. You can get 1.5 and it would slip right over the stock pipes as well. I would look at a center offset muffler.

I'm pretty sure that you mean 2.25. Stock exhaust on my 04 was 2.25".
