So ever since I have been driving I have always wanted a tail dedicated truck. So when my buddy put his 1996 Tacoma V6 Xtra Cab, up for sale. I bought it, didn't think twice. So I am currently in the state of planing out my build, while I save up (should only take a couple months). I plan on building this truck pretty quick.

Since it will be a tail dedicated rig I am 99.9% sure a solid axle swap is going to be the way to go. My savings account disagrees, but screw that thing. I also have a desire to push around 37's.

This is what I am currently thinking.

    Front Suspension:
Trail Gear => 96-04 Tacoma Sas Kit C 4" Hd Leaf Springs 12" Shocks 3.4L 5.29 Arb Locker
    https://www.trail-gear.com/TG/95_Ta...ker/i_0_0_393/_301128-1-KIT.aspx#.U5lHHZRdU4Q

    Front Axle:
    ARB Locker
    Dirty 30s™ 30 Spline Birfield/Axle Kit
    Rock Assault™ Steering Stops
    Rock Assault™ Front Axle Housing

    Rear Suspension:
Trail Gear Rear Lift Kit 4” Springs
    (https://www.trail-gear.com/TG/Tacom..._3_/i_0_0_394/_110230-1-KIT.aspx#.U5jpH6YgTtQ)

    Rear Axle:
    Stock
    Locked ARB
    5.29

The primary reason I am going with leafs in the front is I don't think the install is out of reach for me, I am not a mechanic (but am an engineer), and want to be able to fix shit on the trail. I am not confident that I will be able to do that with a 3 link. I also like that the 3rd member comes per-assembled.

Armor is still in play, the swap is taking primary focus right now.

Give me your feedback, anyone used these kits? (I am not going the all pro direction more than I can spend).

The truck already has a name.
