Cooks 2000 4x4 build plus BS thread

Since I finally had enough mods on the truck I thought I'd start a build.

Sorry for the big pics Tapatalk is sort of dumb like that

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask

First wheeling video!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zBR...csrbMb1u1UkPAw

Got some snow in Georgia

12/22/14

How it sits with ~134k miles

The earliest pic I have of when I bought it

Goal for this truck is DD and weekend warrior. I hope to make this purely a off-road/Overland rig but for now it gets action on and off pavement.

Here's some specs:

2000 Tacoma TRD 4x4 V6 5-speed

I bought it July of 2013 with ~128k miles from a member on here for a pretty good deal, nothing wrong with it except some bald tires and some surface rust.

Current Mods:

Suspension:

Billies 5100s up front
Eibach/Toytec coils
AAL in the rear
Toytec Diff Drop

Mechanical:

Volant Intake
Magnaflow exhaust

Lighting:

Retrofit H1 Mini
Blacked out Gatling Gun shroud with halos
LED pods

Interior:

LED's everywhere
JVC head-unit
JVC speakers
Sub-woofer
Cobra CB with Uniden speaker
Viper alarm system (damn thing is annoying sometimes )
5% tint with a strip on top

Wheels and Tires:

First: Weld Scorpio 15x8 wheels with BFG A/T 32x10.5r15
Second: Pro-Comp 7069 16x8 with Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 265/75r16

Exterior:

Firestik antenna
BAMF antenna mount
2nd gen Black emblems
Rattled Canned front and Dipped rear bumpers
Dipped door handles
Custom Satoshi grille with Landcruiser Toyota and TRD emblems
CBI Ditch Brackets

My future mods:

Armor:
Sliders (4x Innovations)
Front bumper(Bashfab/BruteForce hybrid/All-Pro APEX)
Rear bumper(plate)
Skids (Budbuilt or All-Pro)

Interior:
Ultra Gauge
Switches
Wet Okoles

Exterior:
Tool box
LED light bars
Bed rack (Bashfab or custom) with RTT
1.25" Wheel Spacers
Engine Bay Lights
Tundy Brake Mod with SS brake lines
Diff Breather Mod (ordered)
Redline Hood Struts
K&N Intake

Suspension:
Icon Coilovers
Rear Icon Shocks
New Leaf Pack
U-Bolt Flip Kit

First official mod TRD emblem, gotta love Amazon

Sold the camper, kinda wish I hadn't but I need new tires

It was raining so my bulldog need some shelter

Did some small flexing in the back of my neighborhood haha

Then I found a nice short trail on the other side of my neighbor hood

Georgia got some snow which was weird but hey I got some TITS

Went on my first wheeling trip! Meet some great guys from TW there, had lots of fun

Here's some of the guys, Cam (ChamYota), Zac (Xaqori), Israel and Tyler (Gabassman)

Chris (Iceman2448) and Greg (Meatman) came later but I didn't snag a pic

And this is what happens when you bring an Isuzu Trooper to a Tacoma meet

Cleaned up the truck and the sunset looked awesome so I snapped a pic

Finally got warm enough to paint some stuff, so I bought some 2nd ten emblems (they look so much better than 1st gen)

Finally had enough cash to get my new rims and tires! Pro-Comp 7069 with Wrangler Duratrac 265's

Now that I had that out of the way, I needed to get rid of that stupid spacer lift that the PO had put on…..

Got some billie 5100s and toytec coils from a member for a pretty good deal, brand new too!

Damn things are beefy as hell!!

From my first wheeling trip I figured out I needed some stuff, like better tires, cb radio and better suspension

It was a great month of modding for me

Here is my CB and antenna setup (you can sort of see my 2nd gen emblem setup here) and my TW sticker

Ha thanks man! Yea I sure will! Ha I knew you would, it looks better there so it's not as blurry! Yea hopefuly it'll change a bit more

And so began the suspension!

Coils and struts put together, looks so sick with the matching silver like they were made for each other

All mounted up, aint it beautiful?

Stupid HID kit kept going out on me so I said f#$k it and jumped on the TRS group buy.

Awesome company with great customer service!

Zombie truck.

Getting em all mounted up, damn things are bright as hell!

Just my halos on, shitty iPhone pics don't do these justice!

Again shitty cell pics, I need a real camera haha

Went on another TW meet! This one was a lot more fun because I knew what to do and had the right equipment this time

Stare down with Zacs truck (Xaqori)

The only group shot I snagged the whole weekend, Chris (Iceman2448), Kevin, and Tyler (Gabassman) (the few of the guys I can remember)

Pic courtesy of Chris (Iceman2448) wished my halos were on

And then Isreal did this same guy with the Isuzu Trooper

Went camping this past weekend up at Tray Mountain.

Sitting in the field

Headed down the mountain in the rock garden

Haven't done anything recently, saving up for some sliders.

But my air unit has been making a funny sound (and blows out dust a little) since my last camping trip. I think some dirt got in there some how. It looks (from the maintenance book) that its a lot of work just to get to the blower unit. So I haven't checked it yet

Hey thanks for posting the antenna mount pic. Would you happen to have any pics of the install that was done. Thanks again.

The antenna would be perfect. Their website doesn't have a good shot of it. I'd like to see it w/the tailgate open. Also, how are you running your coaxial cable to the antenna? As for the cb, I have a general idea how to mount it. Thank man, much appreciated.

There is a grommet in the storage compartment behind the driver, I just slit that open and shoved the wire through then up my taillight

Cool man, did you have to drill new holes or use the existing holesfor the mount? It looks like you're using the stock holes foe the latch. Is that correct? Thanks for the info and pics, greatly appreciate it.

Yea there was no drilling at all (except to keep the antenna from grounding out, we made the antenna hole bigger and threw in a rubber washer) BAMF makes a great product for this. Just have to paint it and that's it
